Adding same profile characters to band

I just got Rock Band 2 on the 360, and I was wondering... Is it possible to create multiple characters and put them into my band? I'm asking because, I'm in a real band, and I would like to make my band mates as characters in the game (which i already have done), but i can only add them as "fill ins" during game play... Is there any way to add them to my band lineup? Or do I have to have a separate profiles for each person?

I wanted to get the statues made of each of us, but only my character is showing up in my characters list in the merch section.

Yes, you can. Choose your band and then select one of the characters you'd like to add. Go to Band Profile and then over to the Roster tab. The character you're accessing the band info from should be listed in the Members box as a SUB alongside the character you used to create the band. Select the Members box and then select the character you'd like to add to the band. That'll give you the option to promote the character to a permanent band member. Repeat for the other 2. :)

Does this work on different console versions too. I have it on Wii, and while they show as band members, under the character select, it shows one as a band member, the rest as my characters.

I've done that. I play guitar, and I made two other characters that I've created as my singer and bassist. Why does my Band only show one member (my main avatar) in the merch/band overview section of my profile?
