View Full Version : How much luck would I have with CANCELLING a replacement order?

Okay. something just dawned on me. Long story short, I think I'd rather try to fix my broken guitar myself. (I'm desperate to hang on to the unit with the quiet fret buttons. I HATE the loud clacky ones).

It's my first-gen one, the one that came out of the box, that has the quiet fret buttons. A replacement arrived Monday, but the upstrum is busted, (and the fret buttons are loud) so I requested yet another one.

But I found this awesome video on how to easily fix the first gen guitars: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fypJNFsK4E Seems very do-able.

What do think my chances are, if I send back the broken replacement they sent, then call them and try to cancel the new replacement they're sending me?

EDIT: And P.S. UPS has me down as "Billing Info Received" and EA Support has me as "Parts Shipped"

ANOTHER EDIT: Idea! Something just occurred to me. I'm not even going to bother trying to cancel my order. When my third guitar arrives, I can just send that one back. Maybe I'll take out some my aggression on it first, to ensure that it's actually broken. ;) So, I guess this whole topic is moot. Thanks for listenin'.

I would at least try out the replacement before sending it back. You might end up liking that one more.

Just take the neck off and switch the buttons. That is what I plan on doing.

old buttons + new strum design = NICE!

I tried that first, actually. Doesn't work. The wires connecting the fret buttons to the body of the guitar are glued in. But it doesn't matter, I managed to fix the guitar with the quiet buttons, so now I have a flawless, perfectly-functioning guitar.

I read that someone had success in switching the buttons. His was probably made differently though.
