I'll probably sound like a complete douche asking, but I'm seriously curious. Also, I know this'll probably turn into a 15-page off-topic ramblefest in twenty minutes (since I'll be heading to bed), but...

How many of you actually spend time here in the Wii Band Wanted forum looking for players to play with and times to jam, and not using this as General Discussion Redux?

When you're here, how much time is devoted to the forums, and how much to actually playing?

How many people does it take to pester a mod enough to get them in here to do some damn work with the threads that some of us are trying to turn into valuable resources that otherwise are buried into obscurity?

How often do you come on?

And before anyone does, no commenting on other's answers, please.Last thing we need is more baiting (legit or otherwise).

1. I use it as whatever
2. 69.7% of my playing time
3. Around 10?
4. 6 hours a day?
5. Do I count as a usual?

1. To be honest since there is really no other forum to discuss with fellow Wii owners about a multitude of things, I use this a lot more for other things than band wanted stuff. I have a very amazing group of friends and an awesome band. However, I still like meeting new people. However, the Wii owners need a refuge and this is basically all we have.

2. I play way more than post on the forum. This forum disappoints me greatly for reasons I'll gladly divulge but later.

3. I don't think the mods notice this forum to be quite honest. I kinda like it that way.

4. Almost every day. But for other stuff like DLC announcements and PMs.

I hope that was helpful.

4. 2 hrs.
5. The ceiling fixture, but the umbrella cupboard was also a good hiding place.

1. I'm a freelance player, so I chatter. *points to post count*
2. I refresh pages in between setlists, so about 70 playing, 30 forum-ing.
3. C'mon, obscurity is fun. I've usually never seen a mod in here unless something takes off.
4. Every day.
5. Iz total yooshal, rite?

I do come here to look for people to jam with, but I also like chatting with fellow Wii users, so I use the forum for both.

When you're here, how much time is devoted to the forums, and how much to actually playing?

80% playing and 20% forums, maybe even 90/10. I don't look here too much when I play. If I'm chatting and playing, I'm usually on MSN to do that.

How many people does it take to pester a mod enough to get them in here to do some damn work with the threads that some of us are trying to turn into valuable resources that otherwise are buried into obscurity?

Apparently not enough.

How often do you come on?

I come on pretty often, usually just to lurk.

right now i am on here more than playing cause i'm all trashed up and full of stitches and it hurts to play -

sometimes when i am teaching, i have my students working on their papers, and i am sitting in front of the class with my laptop looking official - but really, i am here :)

i came here to get in a band, but never found anyone playing the hours i am (daytime during the week)

nearly all of my online friends have come from this forum.

i am here pretty often, but i usually only read the same old threads, which don't need to be stickied. i know how to find them

Subscribe, or reload the forum page every time to switch the listing from Thread Start time to Last Post time?

If any of you fellow Wii users are familiar with IRC, there's a channel on the gamesurge network (same place the official RB2 chan is), called wiirockonline

I usually use that to try to find spur of the minute games. It's usually pretty dead in there, but I'd be more than happy to get some new friends on the list!

And if you're not familiar with IRC, a bunch of people use www.mibbit.com to connect! Server is irc.gamesurge.net and channel is #wiirockonline

Pestering the VOLUNTEER mods to do anything probably isn't the best way to accomplish your goals, but if you're looking to have bogus posts deleted and see derailed threads put back on topic I'd recommend using the Post Report feature.

The Post Report is the little red exclamation point in the upper right hand corner of every post. If you see something that doesn't belong, be it offensive, repetitive or off topic just report it and a notice will be sent to the mods and devs on the forums. There's almost 150,000 active threads on the forums right now and over 2 million posts, and we can't be everywhere at once. We want this forum and the threads contained within to be the kind of valuable resource you're describing, but a great deal of that responsibility falls on you, the posters. We are, of course, happy to step in when necessary so don't hesitate to report posts or PM me for more info.

It isn't so much the spam that bothers me. It's more that there's a lot that can be done to help members use the forum to it's potential, but only with a few simple actions from the mods. I have PMed many of the mods (I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say that anyone without "HMX" in the beginning of their name is a volunteer) on various occasions for different things, and none have come to assist for anything. I understand that there's too much on the forums for the mods to find anything within the posts themselves, which is why every time I PM one I include links that lead to the problem and a suggested solution.

The Report Post function sounds pretty cool. I've never noticed it before on any forum (not that I use it much). Thank you for letting me know, HMX Henry! (I'm also pretty curious how you came across this thread. I guess it's reassuring to know that the moderators do take some notice around here)

EDIT: Wow, I am soooooo in the dark. Awesome tip, PhreaK
