Is there any way to have two mics working with RB2 on the PS3? We'd like to be able to have a 2nd mic running for backing vocals/harmonies when we have RB parties. I know there used to be a Blockhead Duet adapter or something available but it appears to now be discontinued.
Anyone have any suggestions or experience? All input is welcome--thanks!
There is only support for one microphone in Rock Band and Rock Band 2.
EDIT: Unless you're talking about third-party options, in which case no idea. Did not mean to close this (was a reflex action).

Dual mics for Rock Band. (http://docsrockbandmods.netforums.us/docs-vox-box-5-port-vox-adaptor-vt507.html)
EDIT* Of course this is a 3rd party option. ;)
EDIT #2* Here's a link to the Blockhead Dual mics on eBay. (http://cgi.ebay.com/Blockhead-Microphones-for-PS3-Xbox-360-Wii-2-Pack_W0QQitemZ350193221294QQihZ022QQcategoryZ13996 9QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) Has had decent reviews.
blockhead duet set microphones used to be the way to go :

now, it doesn't seem like they're sold anywhere...
***RUMOR WARNING BELOW*** ONLY RUMORS!!!
The upcoming Beatles game is rumored to support 3 mics... so... maybe Harmonix will release a patch or something more official to support more than one mic in the future...
NOTE: THE ABOVE IS ALL RUMOR and nothing more.

I 100% the Blockhead dual mic system for any enhanced Rock Band shenanigans. And from a fellow named Chadsauce, that is an endorsement you can trust!
Seriously, get these mics, get a pair of mic stands cheap on musicians friend (i got 2 tripod boom stands WITH mic clips off of musiciansfriend.com for like $30!), and you are ready to rock!
CON: Since the game isn't designed for 2 vocal tracks, realistically what you're doing is combining the 2 vocals into 1 composite vocal input. MEANING: If you want to sing harmonies (either correct or a terrible terrible abomination of an attempt) you will probably get docked in points, unless you have the person singing the harmony really loud to overpower the harmony vocals... this goes the same for if you both try to sing the melody but one person is spot on and the other is horrible- the arrow averages out the two and bottom line your vocal scoring takes a hit.
THEN AGAIN an easy fix for this is to just turn on that trust NO FAIL MODE and go to town. I'd say that dual micing is more practical in a social setting (WAAAAAY MORE FUN) and not so optimal for any serious scoring gamer sessions.
PRO: The fact that the Blockhead system uses a USB dongle with actual 1/4" inputs is GOLD in and of itself. MEANING: you can use any actual good quality microphone that has a XLR-1/4" cable input it can dramatically increase the sound quality of your vox in some cases!
BOTTOM LINE: If you're like me and value the RockBand more for the social experience than the aspect of high scores and points and what have you, then the PROs definitely outweigh the CONs. If you have some extra cash, pick these things up and take your party to yet another level. They totally take getting people involved to a whole new level as people who don't usually want to take a go at the vocals get a little more bold now that they don't have to sing by themselves... it's gold baby GOLD!

Any setup that puts two (or more) generic mics to one USB input should work. The one I use is something I got off of eBay that is intended for Karaoke Revolution.
Reiterating what the above poster said, it's still technically one input and as such, one character, one vocal track.
That said, it does open up what is essentially a party game to five (or more) people. Your vocalists can sing harmony, trade off lines, or even sing parts within their range.

We've used the Blockheads without a problem.
Singing at the same time usually throws the arrow all to Hell, but it is possible.
The mics are cr*p also, but the splitter itself is worth the $25.00.
I saw these today at Best Buy actually.
