I really, really, wanna play guitarist and vocalist. It's gonna take some work but that's my Rock Band dream!

But I've yet to hear if the mic will have a stand or if it will fit ordinary mic stands.

I think a mic stand is a great idea, I too want to play instruments and sing at the same time, it just seems like a great challenge and fun to me. Hopefully they release some kind of mic stand or like you said hopefully it can fit a normal mic stand. I'm sure they have thought of this, hopefully it happens!

From the E3 video it looks normal sized. I just have one question: If your playing guitar, how will you hit the mic to play cowbell?

Point but if it's got no vocals I don't wanna be behind a mic anyway. Otherwise I couldn't care for it outside of songs with no vocals.

Use your head? Hit it with guitar? Although if I was doing it I wouldn't be concerned with points, and I would assume missing the few cowbell notes wont cause you to fail.

I though that most info I've read, said you can tap along like a tamborine during fills, or freestyle vocal. By freestyle I suppose any thing that makes noise, and is considered to "pump up" the crowd. I don't think it will necessarily be on beat tapping or anything, just a freestyle fill

I thought the same thing.

In the videos, you can see green gems that float across the screen horizontally, and you have to tap along with the mic in those sections. So it's not completely freestyle.

I can't wait to see the youtube videos of people playing Don't Fear the Reaper and smacking their head for cowbell!

I doubt a mic stand will come with it but i bet you'll be able to buy one that does..........or at worst with somne slight modifications. Mic stands arent exactly hard to make

No but that seems to be more evidence that a stand should be packed in.

im interested in doing mic/guitar too it seems like a good challenge.... for all those who really want to do the tambourine/cowbell thing those sessions are usually during instrumental solos so on guitar if u use the new frets ull have one hand free to do that

this is true and i had not though of that........damn that would take some coordination though to play a solo (while looking at the screen) and see the vocal notes as well and hit them

well if you have to hit it at a certain time couldnt you just like make a poping noise into the mic with your mouth?

It would be nice but with the game being pretty expensive as it is, a mic stand is probably something extra they could offer but won't include in the bundle to keep the cost down (unless they have like a mega-bundle or something that has extra stuff).

I wouldn't have thought that the cowbells would have a truly significant affect on the song, personally. Just because let's face it, some people, as evidenced by this thread alone, are going to want to play the guitar and sing at the same time, heck, some of us, myself included, plan to give it the Phil Collins approach and play drums while singing. That's gonna take a while to be able to do.. Maybe cowbells will be purely for a more aural filler than actually having a major impact.

I just made a thread about this, but seems I wasn't first, so i'll post her in the future.
I've always wanted to sing and play guitar, and this seems like a good way to practice. : D

Do you HAVE to play cowbell or tambourine if its in the song, or is it just an extra for the mic? because I'd hate it if it's necessary

I agree. I really want an option to disable it. Playing guitar + vocals with a mic stand would be great.
