Why are all the comercials commercials for the 360?

I've yet to see a commercial for Rock Band that didn't end with a huge white screen that said it was for Xbox360. You can't even tell the game is available for the PS3. What gives? Do the guys at HMX really love the 360 or does Microsoft have some sort of monopoly on the ads?

Some commercials are like that. Assassin's Creed always showed the Playstation 3 logo at the end. The Raw vs Smackdown game has the Wii logo at the end. It's just the way the commercials are.

They do show all the logos really small at the bottom of the screen, but I'm assuming the game companies pay a hefty amount of change to have the Xbox Live, Wii, or Playstation 3 logo to come at the end on it's own for a multi-platform game.

I believe that Microsoft often pays for ads for big games on their system... and if they're paying for it I guess they don't have to include any mention of the PS3 version.

The PS logo shows at the bottom of one screen. It's very tiny, but for that logo at the end that must cost a pretty penny.

microsoft prolly paid a lot of money to make that happen. i remember like 2 months ago when the simpsons game came out, at the end of the ad it said it was available for PS2, PS3, and PSP. never saw a single ad on tv mention wii, DS, or 360.

Microsoft paid the most because it's a great game and they'll get people to buy 360's for it.

Gotta love the Red 3/4 Ring of Death!! Have witnessed it happen 5 times. It sucks.
That's why I only have a PS3 that has been running flawlessly since launch.
I might get another X360 when they work out the problems but only for Halo 3.

Yeah, I've been watching pretty carefully, too, and I don't know that I've seen a Rock Band commercial that even used the small logo.

And why do we care? Because we don't want the general public mislead into believing it's 360 only.

It is all about Exclusives. If you watched E3 this year, you would have witnessed that the PS3 was losing just about all of thier Exclusive titles. Rock Band was shown and demo'ed during the Microsoft Presentation. During several Interviews it was stated that Rock Band was going to be coming out for the 360 first and the PS3 second, but due to the holidays they decided to release both systems at the same time. If you watched the Sony presentation there was no mention of Rock Band at all, and the system Harmonix used to demo the game was the 360. The head of Sony was asked about losing exclusive titles and all he could come up with was it is not about titles but about longevity which I thought was a bunch of bull! I have nothing against Sony or the PS3 other than pricing and titles! I own a PS2 now. I know they have some titles that will be coming out next year, but that is the problem NEXT YEAR! Everything the 360 showed except one title they promised would be out this year and low and behold it was! So Sony Make me want to buy a PS3! No matter if you love or hate the Xbox, the truth is noone will ever be able to do internet play like them. They have a lock and all the contracts!

Yeah, Xbox had better games this year, but it's first year it didn't do any better than the PS3. Looking at next years lineup for the PS3 it's looking quite promising. Heck, MGS4 alone...
