im having the exact same problem with my green pad right now.... it just started doing it today.. it will work sometimes.. if i hit it STUPIDLY hard.... but even when hitting it hard it doesn't always work? i'm been having some guitar problems also.. but ive been trying all the little fixes i can find on here and i think i might be able to fix it tonight... but that still leaves me with a broken drum set....
After reading all the horror stories on here, i dont think i want to RMA and all that... have them bill my credit card and wait for WEEKS to get my replacement... not something i'd like to do... b.bonds
p.s. this is my 1st POST!! ive been looking over these threads for months ... literally and finally got my account working on here... :)

OK, this probably should not have been done but my friend's drum head also stopped working (I actually smacked it after screwing up again). He took out the screws on the back side of the pad (not sure if he needed to do this - I don't think you need to). If you do this make note of the screws as 2 are larger than the rest. You can then simply but carefully (but with some force) snap off the pad by pulling up on the edges. When he removed the pad the problem was apparent. The wire was... well, hanging by a wire. For some reason the wire crossed into where it got between the plastic of the unit and the pad. After awhile it became severed. You will need to split both end of the wires as it is actually 2 wires. The alike colors go to each other. Rewire and then cover with electrician tape. He tucked the wire out of the way and am hopeful it stays there.
If it isn't the wire, explore. That was my friend's plan. By the way, I'm not recommending this as I'm sure it would void your warranty.
