Hi Guys,
I'm a veteran at playing Rock Band/GH, but a relative newbie when it comes to playing via Xbox Live. I usually play with my good friends in the same room, and we all know each other. But unfortunately, those events are few and far in between, and recently I joined Xbox LIve Gold, so I can play with others.
This being my first foray, I don't want to come off as an ass by committing some party foul. So to those of you that play frequently on Live, particularly if you do random play, what are some Rock Band etiquettes I should be aware of? Particularly, do I need a wireless headset, and if not, how does the band typically come to agreement on what song to play? Thanks.

Having a headset is good, because then you can interact and speak with the people your playing with. Although, once the song starts, not a lot of people are talking. And there are many different ways that people agree on a song or songs. If were picking a playlist, Ill let each person pick one song, and then we play those. If we're picking a single song, Ill usually use a randomizer on my laptop, or just let someone pick someone who gets to pick the song.
Im an expert vocalist/expert guitarist/expert bassist. Im usually avaiable weekdays 5: 00- 9: 00 pm EST

Don't be phased when people kick you out because you don't have DLC, they're just being mean and nasty. Or tired of the on-disc songs.
But then again, you can always add me and I wouldn't kick you out. :D

Some notes:
If you're playing with another guitarist, try to alternate between guitar and bass UNLESS the other prefers one of the two and you're comfortable playing the one that he/she doesn't want.
Have SOME DLC. Money's tight, it's understandable, but there are 20+ free songs, so at least take the time to download them.
Don't feel pressured into playing on Expert. If the people you're playing with don't like you playing on lower difficulties, then they aren't worth your time.
GT: Xeno Xombie. We can play some time :)

Thanks Mythic, good points. I've got about 70+ DLCs, and increasing every week. I agree with you about not being pressured to play on Expert. I don't mind who I play with, even if they just want to get their feet wet on easy. I remember the days when I sucked and couldn't hit the HoPos to save my life. And I don't mind playing some of the easier songs. Some of those are just fun to listen to. Although I also understand the rush of playing in a full expert band, and getting to GS a song before it's even half over, where everyone is so in synch, and deploys star power together, and carry an 8x multiplier for a solid minute. That's a huge rush.

Well, looks like they explained the basics, now advance teachings start now! lol
but seriously, play to have fun, most people I've came across actually enjoyed playing just to play. Most of the people I've came across with really don't have my DLC but I don't trip, we just play to have fun. Besides, it's a game, enjoy yourself :)

All great points. Hell, I have more than 200 DLC and still run into people who get rude because I don't have the right DLC (I'm not a metal fan, so it's pretty much the one genre of dlc I skip).
