The red light shows up on the dongle and the guitar, but when you start the game the light goes off the guitar? and it doesnt work.
I've tried fresh batteries and yes it's switch is on. I've tried the reset button and still nothing. It just doesnt work.
I'm really dissappointed as I just bought the game unpacked it and tried it today that I find it's broken right out of the box.
Here I am thinking, thats ok I have my GH3 guitar, since I heard it works. Yet I find out that it only works with the Xbox, not PS3.
Anyone else have this issue?

Try pushing the little white button on the inside of the hole that is just below the PS button on the guitar. Sometimes when I put the PS button it does not come on unless I push that button first.
Try that it might work for you.

Press the little white button didnt do anything except turn off the dongle's red light. Then I press the dongle button then the PS on the guitar. Same problem solid light on the dongle and no light on the guitar.
After scouring thru all the posts. It just seems like EA And HRMX rushed this to market, especially for PS3. If I would have known about these problems before I bought this game, I would have bought it for the XBOX or not at all. I dont care if they are working on fixes or not, I didnt even get to play with the guitar and there is a serious lag issue with the mic. I have it hooked to my 52LCDXBR5 straight to TV on game mode and there is a lag. I tried output to pc speakers and still a mic lag. It just seems nothing works right with this product except the drum sticks.
If the replacement guitar fails, that will be the last straw.

same thing was happening to us...
only difference is we can get it working (so it works half the time), but then in the middle of a song it will go off completely (the little red light on the adapter). So we unplug that and it'll say to plug it back into that same slot, but it won't register with the guitar. We turn it off than back on, then press the white button then the ps button and nothing....
Sometimes it takes up to 10 tries before it works again. We tried fresh batteries as well.
We got the game the night it came out and that night we had problems. It just seems it's gotten worse. Today it happened 6 times within 5 minutes. It's getting ridiculous.
i don't have any other problems with the mic or drums, though.
I made a thread about this a few days ago and someone just suggested a faulty signal. Blah!

*bump*
see here's another ps3 guitar with their adapter not working right...
i checked the date on my bundle box...and it's from September. O.O
Does that mean mine must be really screwed...
our strum bar is perfectly fine, though *knocks on wood*. It's actually very sensitive.
the only problem i've had with hardware is this damn faulty signal with the adapter. I can barely get through a song without it going off...
