I believe it's been said that they will work.

I wouldn't wait to long... At the rate the PS3 is going, hardware wise, PS2 BC will be eliminated from all models lol

I can joke about this since I own a PS3 60GB since Feb '07 and have watched the 20gb discontinue, the 80gb launch with limited PS2 BC, the 60GB discontinue and the 40gb launch with zero PS2 BC all within the first year ;)

He only wants to reuse the peripherals, not the game disk.

That's my plan, too.

oic. I missed that the first time. I would think it would work if it is all USB based. Guess we'll all find out in 12 days...

Yeah, it should work. I think that they work backwards, too. Like PS3 instruments on the PS2. I'm having my vocalist borrow my PS3 mic and rent a copy of the PS2 game when it comes out to practice.

There have been a couple articles that stated that the PS2 & PS3 peripherals will be interchangeable, however those were based on one comment released from Harmonix quite a while ago, so I would wait and see.

The mic should work no problem, since they're really just generic USB mics. The drums and guitar? We'll see. I certainly hope so.
