I requested for the express replacement on 12/02 in the morning and received the replacement on 12/05 in the evening. It arrived faster than I had anticipated. I actually was hoping that it would be delayed for the free game just to have it >_> Anyways, I didn't get a chance to test it out yet as I was too tired from putting up Christmas decorations.

The new guitar came inside 2 boxes which also came with a new strap, paper with instructions on what to do with the old guitar, and a return shipping sticker. To my dismay, the guitar also came with circular scratch marks on the body and quite a bit of rattling noise when shook.

The scratches can only be seen if you look at it closely so I guess I could live with that. I took the guitar apart and found that there was a lot of broken glue which caused the rattling noises. The guitar has the magnet strum that everyone seems to be talking about. The fret buttons are a bit louder than my old one. The orange solo button seems slightly looser than the others and it's much louder than all the other buttons.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to test it out tomorrow and see how it performs.

I got my replacement guitar with four days as well....and I have the same complaints as you out of the box cept for the scratches....but it felt slightly lighter...the buttons were a little louder and the strum bar a little looser....

I tested mine though....now I havent taken it apart to see if the strum mechanism is magnetic or not...BUT!!!! i have played a crap load of songs....and the thing is worse than the one it is replacing....
you can hardly do anything requiring up and down strumming...it doesnt register.....it does this in the menu screens as well.....

now I am wondering if its a framerate issue (although it doesnt do this with the drums or mic)or do the guitars just suck.!!!!

anyone else with this problem??!!!!! let me know....i am writing warranty place now...

same problem here. anything requiring up and down strumming is impossible to play with these guitars. As a test, Try playing bass on a song that is fast enough to make strumming helpful, but is not really required. One suggestion would be the Vagiant track on hard difficulty. It has many notes in a row at the same pace, try strumming them and i get intermittent misses. I know it isn't my timing, because i can play the song perfectly if i only upstrum or only downstrum. Very frustrating. I hope they get a patch to get the PS2 controllers working. They are much better in my opinion.

The good news is that I tested out the new guitar today. Downstrumming is working great now. My scores have improved quite a bit on expert because I generally downstrum.

The bad news is that the upstrum basically has the same problem as my old guitar. My old guitar didn't register every downstrum. The new one only registers an upstrum if I use a bit of force every time. Also, the tilt sensor seems to be messed up. Sometimes overdrive will activate with a slight tilt of the guitar. Other times it won't activate overdrive no matter what I do. Ended up having to press select to activate it which does make me miss notes sometimes.

On a side note, my drum pedal just snapped... The drums didn't always register a hit but I was holding off on getting a replacement till I received the new guitar. Seems like I have no choice now but to get a new drum set.

I don't want to have 3 Rock Band instruments charged onto my credit card at the same time so I'll have to wait till they receive my old guitar. Get a replacement for the drums. Send out the old drums. Then get a replacement for the new guitar.

Hopefully, the new replacements won't have problems.

Hopefully someone can answer my question.

Does the drum kit replacement come with a new pedal? Curious if I have to get a replacement for the drums and the pedal seperately.
