Video Game Music?

What if Rock Band actually featured rock songs from game soundtracks? It's far off but could be cool. I've heard a rock version of the Zelda Theme, the Halo MJOLNIR remix, One Winged Angel (Advent Children version), and a few others.

What do you think? Just for fun could you think of anything? I know the original Sonic the Hedgehog has alot of rock versions.

That would actually be pretty cool and fun. The only problem would be that there are no vocals, all though it would be nice for single player/3 person multiplayer

One Winged Angel does but they're not english. But in my opinion that'd be kind of fun. Besides without vocals it won't matter. There are gonna songs without vocals.

I'd love to see the halo theme...but as previously stated, no vocals

Hm, they said something about the Halo Theme for GH2, but just rumours so far. :(

Anyway, I think Rockband isn't that great for those songs, because of the Vocal aspect of the game. But I could imagine that the PS3 version of Guitar Hero 3 may have One Winged Angel and the Xbox 360 version the Halo Theme.

Very cool, I think that would be a great idea. I believe Guitar Hero II at E3 last year had the megaman theme, which is cool. Also after seeing E3 this year, the Halo theme could definately be another song that would be awesome to play on Rock Band. Lots of Zelda songs are good too, and a whole lot of other games. I think it would be awesome if a DLC pack of video game songs were released. The only forseen problem is the lack of vocals, but I guess the "singer" could just play tambourine the whole time :p

Otherworld (From FFX)
What I'm Made Of by Crush 40 (Sonic Heroes... yes I like Sonic, but they have great music too)

Actually, the Black Mages albums are pretty kick ass. You know, thats Nobuo Uematsu's band, with which he arranges rock versions of Final Fantasy songs.

At last, a topic where I can lose my Vulcan mind. "One-Winged Angel" [A.C.-version] and "Open Your Heart" are great starters. I mentioned this in another forum but Ozma did a cover of the Tetris song (also known as "Korobeiniki") and that was pretty awesome. Gitaroo-Man had some awesomeness: "Flyin' to Your Heart", "Born to be Bone", and "Tainted Lovers". Oh God, "Tainted Lovers" (Beauty is a sin! Oh, joy!). Bubbleman's theme from Mega Man (obviously). A cover of the "Metal Gear Solid" theme would be swell. Anything from any "R-Type". They could probably make a game of just "R-Type" covers. A cover of ::deep breath:: "Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gott und Bose"'s trailer music would blow minds. I'm sure others will come to mind.
