Hi rockers!
Living in Europe, I lack the patience to wait for the expected Q108 Rock Band release. Does anyone know if the PS3 version works in Europe?
My take:
- The game itself: Should work as PS3 is region free
- Instruments: Should work, provided that they are powered or charged via the USB port. Are they? Or is there any need for external power?
Can anyone who owns a PS3 Rock Band describe how each of the instruments are powered/charged? Is there any voltage/power specification on the instruments?
If everything looks fine I will try to import a US bundle...
Thanks
/Peter

works fine as long as you have an ntsc capablt tv. All power is UBS except for the guitar which is AA batteries. Bear in mind though that you will not get a warrenty and it is quite likely that at least one of your instruments will break, probably the guitar. However if the PS 3 Les Paul controller patch ever comes out you can use that instead.

absolutely. Though as others have said, it doesn't output PAL, only NTSC, so make sure you can support that.

The drums are powered via a USB cable from the PS3. The guitar has a USB dongle and takes AA batteries.
The Mic is a generic USB mic, only uses USB power.

Nothing plugs into the wall at all. Should work perfectly fine.
If everything looks fine I will try to import a US bundle...
Good luck!

It will work fine. It's just a matter of whether you get faulty instruments or not, since EA wont help anybody not in the US.

That's good to hear - I too cannot wait and have arranged for Rock Band for the PS3 to be sent from the States to England.. It's on it's way....
:)
One quick question - I have searched honest!
Anyone know where I can buy an extra guitar for four player mode in the UK - does a Guitar hero guitar work on Rock Band for the PS3?
Thanks,
Lawrence.....

At the moment you can't buy a stand-alone Rock Band guitar, and the Guitar Hero 3 guitar will *not* work with Rock Band as of now.
Harmonix actually has a patch ready which *should* enable the Guitar Hero 3 guitar to work with Rock Band, but it's getting held up for some unknown reason. If you can wait a few days there should be an official announcement, but know that right now, it does not work.
The only way to get a second guitar is to either buy the entire Rock Band bundle twice, or buy someone else's guitar (off eBay or someplace similar).

Also, you might have some trouble getting the DLC.

absolutly not! you'll have no problem downloading DLC! I NEVER HAD problem with it till now (even with Shivering Isles which is 1,29Gb big!), so I don't why you could have one

You will not have problems IF you entered your card details before Sony clamped down on non US cards. Try to do it now you are stuffed unless you use a pre paid card like IDT Prme (I have posted how I did it eleswhere if anyone cares to search for Prime card I am sure they will find it)
