I'm going to strain myself a little and give a short detail on why each of these bands/songs should be included in future downloadable content. Besides these bands are all amazing and would be fun to play, at least for me. Keep in mind that I'm currently at work so I won't be able to link these to any samples (sorry).
Silversun Pickups:
-Well Thought Out Twinkles
-Lazy Eye
-Checkered Floor
A lot of these songs are diverse, including bass heavy tracks that sound great. A lot of the guitar parts would probably be long notes with fun picking sessions. The drums are solid and would translate well for the game.
Phantom Planet:
-By the Bed
-The Happy Ending
-The Living Dead
Just back away from their California fame and listen to the last album, it's really a step in a different direction from the other albums. The first two songs are very drum heavy, By the Bed even has an amazing drum solo halfway through the song. They have a new album in the studio so maybe a new track could be obtained, eh?
Eagles of Death Metal:
-Flames Go Higher
-I Want You So Hard (boys bad news)
-Chery Cola
So Queens of the Stone Age are in the game, which is great, but I think we need some love for Eagles of Death Metal. 'Nuff, said? I think so!

-Jenny
-No Weather
-Somewhere Across Forever
Fast songs with fun bass and lead and fast drumming. The singing might be a little difficult because of the speed and pitch changes.
I don't feel that any of these would be as good if they arrived as covers. I haven't seen anybody talk about these artists, although I'm n00b here. I'll make other posts in this area, probably, and come back later to link these songs (sorry again). I'd love to talk about this post if anybody has any remarks or feedback.
Any similiar artists that you would want to see?

Finally someone who understands that this mainstream crap like linkin park, fall out boy and green day suck. Also I really want to hear a 9 year old sing Crystal Skull. The Mastodon musicians are some of the best at their instruments (skill related) ever.

Meh. To each their own, I guess. I try and keep a diverse taste in music and there was a time where I listened to "pop-punk" bands. I think my guiltiest pleasures include MCR and The Killers but only because I'm a sucker for awesome music videos. Every forum I've gone to, outside of this one, has been full of the bands you mentioned and I just try and ignore it. At least I'm not forced to play Linkin Park in the game right now...
The bands I listed are some of my favorite, and I felt that they would all really work well in Rock Band. I like female bassists, catchy songs, and fresh beats.
Mastodon is probably my favorite metal band and I have the half-naked, female, viking poster to prove it.

You are really trying to push those bands aren't you? Resorting to hijacking threads, eh?
anyways, OP: I like the idea of Silversun Pickups. Although, I'd rather play Future Foe Scenarios than Well Thought out Twinkles. But I'd be happy to play ANY Silersun than nothing, so I'd play your stated pack. :D

I originally had it on my list but kept changing songs while shuffling through my ipod. I would pretty much pay for a Silversun Pickups pack twice... I shouldn't have too because they are so talented and awesome, though. I'm just hoping some of these are at least taken into consideration.

I mean, with all the recent MTV airplay they had, I don't see why MTV Games wouldn't push them to be DLC.
