I just got my empty box and will send it on friday. For who got their guitars back, do they work fine? How long did it take? And was it packed it styrofoam, for protection purposes of course. Thanks

I am EXTREMELY satisfied with my replacement guitar. Just not too satisfied that it took 12+ days on an "Express Return" lol.

But seriously satisfied with the replacement!

Buttons do seem louder. Plays great. My effects switch doesn't want to stay on wah wah though, I set it all the way up and the screen display shows it drop back to flange.

New guitar plays awesome. Don't notice any difference in button noise, but the strumbar seems much more sturdy... and still doesn't click.

It comes in the same box that they have in the bundle for the guitar. No styrofoam, comes wrapped in bubble-wrap.

Well, actually there are 7 or 8 cubes of styrofoam to secure the smaller box within the larger box.

Mine's hosed. Tilt switch doesn't trigger except about one in 20 times.

Everything's great after 4 hours of use on Hard/Expert. Hopefully she lasts the ages like my GH1 guitar has. *sniffle* It was hard putting the old gal down, really it was. LOL

Only complaint is that it came with three 1/4 inch scratches, but it's all good if it continues to play well.

My replacement guitar refuses to activate overdrive. Trying it more than a dozen times times, I was only able to get it to activate overdrive once by tilting. I can't believe my replacement guitar is broken out of the box. Completely unacceptable.

While having the tilt thing not working is a bummer, one of the best things about the strat is the back button is right under the strum bar. I know I have read that others often blow the multiplier while tilting to activate OD, which I do a lot. Now, I just hit the back button. You can time hitting it with strumming and it's an option to doing the tilt.

I just can't wait to get my replacement back....

How do I get a replacement one, cuz my strum bar is a pile of crap. Should I just go to where I bought it from?

I have still let to test my new replacement guitar but I must say I just noticed even more scratches on the sides of the guitar which don't make me that happy! I mean my broken one didn't have a scratch on it that I could see and this replacement one has a ton and some are pretty deep scratches.

My replacement was feeling quite sturdy, and I grew used to it in a day. The day after however, the strum bar double strums about 15% of the time, especially while strumming the same way, or both ways, fast.:( I up-strum (and up-strumming refused to work with my old guitar), but my brother who down-strums says he doesn't have any probelms. (which happened with my old one also)

My current one (never been replaced yet) activates overdrive way too easy and the neck feels flimsy.... do the new replacement guitar solve this issue?

on launch night, i managed to get myself the rockband kit from the bestbuy midnight launch. All went well till about a 3-4 days later when my down strum began dying. first thing i did was to head to bestbuy and exchange it for another which also suffered from the same problems and lasted for about a day or two. after reading some of the threads here regarding a free game, i jumped the opportunity and went ahead n placed a express warranty order. which was last sunday, well that didnt turn out to well, they somehow managed to process my order and i recieved the new guitar today. altho, im a millimiter disapointed at the fact that i didnt get a free game,im extatic at how fast and smooth the customer service/support experience went.

thank you EA and thank you HMX. thanks a mill :)

To ad my two cents, my guitar seems to be like everyone else's, strum bar working fine after heavy use, frets abit noisey, scratches, and the crappy overdrive, any way, i intend to fix the scratches by painting the guitar, meaning they will be less noticeable, and I plan on fixing the crappy overdrives by adding in a foot pedal, so all in all, I'll have a damn good guitar once the warrenty is void :D

A foot pedal for your guitar? Now that would be sweet! Please post pics if you do do this, I wanna see it.

I ordered 2 replacement guitars, As both of mine were victims to the strum bar virus. The replacements came relatively quickly, but one of them is doing the same thing as the 2 I replaced. After a few hours of use it seems to double strum, the note explodes but i get a negative score or it wont hold a long note even though I hit the note right and am still holding the fret. Just ordered another one and I hope to not experience the same problem with that one or the other one that I already replaced. Any body else having a problem with the replacement guitars?

Not so good. Just got my replacement today. It is the magnetic strum bar variety. Unfortunately though it does not work properly. The down strum is inconsistent, the up strum works fine. So it looks like I will be on my 3rd guitar next week. We'll see how that one performs

I just got mine today, and the whammy bar does not work. I experienced this with my other guitar too, but I got it working again so hopefully I can do the same to this one.

The strum bar works PERFECT so far, but I haven't tested it completely. Will report later on tonight after extensive play.

I can live with a non working whammy bar. I don't really use it much anyway.

My guitar's pissing me off. Sometimes when I strum, it doesn't register... what exactly do I have to do to ship it in to get a new one, and how long does it take?

Oh bummer. Are you sure it's the induction loop version? I've gotten two replacements now, one is a tweezer-like contact, the other is induction loop based. I really had high hopes for the induction loop. :(

Not as good as the one it replaced, unfortunately. Out of the box, the strumbar stopped working if the neck was tilted up to engage overdrive. That, and the strumbar seemed a bit ooky. So the replacement is being replaced as well.

My replacement is ok, but the strumbar feels really, stiff. I'm pretty sure it's the new magnetic one (havn't opened it) because tapping very lighty causes a register, but it just doesn't return to neutral fast enough (it will still register, but just doesn't feel "right").

So, I'm on the wall. I'll probably send in for another in like 2 weeks to see if I can get one that's any different. It's nice that it works, but the feel (the frets are fine, just the strum is meh) is just as important, and in that category, it's lacking.

The whammy bar on mine died, a day after I got it. No, the spring didn't break, the bar stopped sending signal, period.

Waiting on my 3rd, now...

I haven't opened my new guitar, but I think the strum bar is of the old mechanism, not the magnetic or induction type. Because it sounds like it'll be noticeably tighter, correct? Mine feels as loose as before. The fret buttons are loud, and overdrive is not as consistent as before.

The only good thing is my strum bar is still holding up after 4 hours of hard play. I'll give it a few more hours but I have a feeling it'll die like my old one if the mechanism is the same.

Well I have the whammy bar working again. So far the guitar seems flawless, BUT I notice that I miss notes that I swear I got every now and then. Not sure if its me or the guitar, but I will continue to try and make sure.

Either way, its loads better than my original.

My overdrive sensor does not work at all :( so I have 1 guitar that the strum bar does not work, and one guitar that the overdrive does not work..........wrote support but I'm sure it'll be another week, and still a 125 buck hold on my credit card *sighs*

Original guitar had a busted down strum. Everything else works fine.

The replacement guitar I just recently received has a busted up strum, scratch marks all around the body, clacky fret buttons, very loose orange solo button that is also very loud, and a faulty overdrive sensor.

My drum bass pedal just snapped as well so I'll be replacing the drum kit before the second guitar.
