View Full Version : I Broke my Drum Kit
I didn't get a defective one, I didn't have any lag problems or anything. I just broke it. I tripped and fell onto the green drum pad and it is now dangling from a small wire. It still works, it's just....swinging free. I can supply pictures if anyone's interested.
My question is: (I have a feeling I know the answer, but still) can I get a hold of tech support and have them send me a new one? Whether or not I have to pay for it isn't important, I just want to know if they'll even send me one. Or would I have to wait until they sell the instruments individually. (Or buy a new Rock Band altogether.)
So yeah, I broke my drum, I want a new one. I don't blame anyone but myself so I'm assuming chances are slim. But I thought I'd ask you knowledgeable folk before I give it a go with Tech Support.
you could request a replacement via express shipping, not return the broken set and you'll be charged $125 for the replacement set.
Do you think they'd accept the broken one, or would this be the only way?
You could give it a try. They will either accept the return and you won't be charged or they wont accept the return and you will be charged $125 plus lose your old drum kit (which you could have used for spare parts in the future).

Just say it came that way?
They're not very thorough in the process.

it's cool that youre accepting responsibility for breaking it and not trying to score a free replacement. i agree with just requesting a warranty replacement and sending back your broken one. either you get covered under warranty and dont pay a dime, or you end up paying whatever the ea support guys charge.
unfortunately since you posted your situation on a public forum and admitted fault, it's possible they'll flag your case. i hope you get a gimme though. you deserve it for being honest and not trying to scam them.
So you're saying I can still get a new kit, but the chances of me getting it free, since I admitted I broke it is slim? Eh, I can live with it.
I was thinking I could try reattaching it. Using a pvc pipe that goes to the ground to support the green pad and tapping/gluing/god-knows-what the area where I broke it. Who knows if that'll hold though.

If they wont take it a simple bracket seems like would work with small screw to hold it on but see what they say when you mail it to them.
