The first Guitar Hero. Second was whatever. Third was actually pretty good. WT fails. Never played GH Aerosmith or Metallica. Never played the two On Tour games, and never will buy Smash Hits. If I want to play Freebird, I pop in GHII even if it is a cover, end of story.

Oh, forgot the 80s, never played it actually.

GHII. Even years removed from its debut, I bought it for $10 and it is just great. Lots of good songs, even if they are covers.

Second (for me) is GHIII and third is GH:A. I haven't played GH or GH:M

GH2 was the best at the time and great for the cover era, now with the masters GHWT it has the doors. Why doesn't rock band have the doors???

The first GH had the best set list and was a blast to play. GH II has better game play, but the set is pretty "meh". GH III had a great set list and good game play, but with Rock Band coming right after it, it was done for.

I actually liked Rocks the 80s a lot, but GHII was pretty good. The fact that both RB and GH forums state the same thing means either HMX was doing something right, or Neversoft is doing something wrong...or hopefully both!

I'm surprised that GHII is winning in the long run. I mean other than WT and disregarding the GH Aerosmith/Metallica games, GHII had the least appealing setlist to me.

Then GH1.

GH:M is a close third...but that's only because I'm a Metallica fan. I like some of the music from all of their games, but I really don't like the style of charting and gameplay.

i would have to say either GH2, GH3, or GH: Metallica. GH2 was really good, GH3was challenging, and GH: Metallica is just as challenging as GH3, in my opinion

I voted before I saw that 1, 2 and 80s were on the list. I would have to say GH2 because of the setlist/being the precursor to RB. Of the Neversoft games I said GH:M because they are getting better at making games/note charts.

I hate having to play covers, so 1 and 2 are out. Just didn't enjoy 80's and Aerosmith at all. Refuse to play On Tour. Not a Metallica fan, so GH:M is out. I've played a little WT, but 3 is better.

The HMX GH games win over the Neversoft ones. But from there it depends on what you want. I feel like GH1 had the best setlist, but GH2 really perfected the gameplay by adding in co-op, better HOPOs, etc.

GHII will must likely be my favorite game ever. I did start with GH but GHII really did it for me. Oh yeah I have all the them except Aerosmith.

That must be why I have GH:M sitting on top of my 360 not being played in favor of RB2. That must be why after passing TtFaF I took out GH3 and put GH2 back in.

I agree with this. I own every 360 GH game except GH:M (which I will buy when it goes to $20). I still have fun with even the Neversoft ones, it's just not a lasting fun that will keep me replaying it over and over.

No because lots of people have tried it, including me, and saw how different it was from before. That is why many people here don't like any of the other games. It was far too detached from what it used to be before Activision took the helm.

Exactly.

Her leaving the band made sense. If i was her, i wouldn't want to travel around with a bunch of dudes, singing my gut out, especially with a baby in my belly.
