I don't even know this game WAS for the PS2. No, I'm pretty sure that it's just Xbox360 and PS3. Tuff luck bro.

It won't be out on the PS2 I don't think it could handle it. And it certainly would not get any DLC. As of now it is only PS3 and 360, and it may come out for the Wii.

Dude, just buy an Xbox 360 and you'll be able to play it! sheesh...PS2 isn't a quality system, and it can't handle the greatness of this game...the ps2 doesn't have the online capabilities to support rock band. I don't want to sound like an A**, but you'll have to move into the next generation...the rest of the world did at least 7 months ago if not way earlier.

Not everyone owns a next gen system, not by far. Most people are still using their PS2's... if not then sales of PS3 and 360 (and even Wii) would be much higher. This holiday season will be big. 2nd and 3rd gen games are coming out for all the systems, and they all should be available. After then you can start getting mad at people for having a PS2, but not yet ;-)

All I can say is to save up for the next gen console brother. Otherwise kick it w guitar hero 2 for the rest of the year.

Well and GH III when it comes out this fall. After this fall though, I don't think there will be any reason to own a PS2.

After the next gen systems have been out over a year, I think it is time to think about picking one up if you want to continue playing games.

i have no reason to buy a next gen system.. except for Rock Band !

get off your bum, get a job, two jobs, work your tail off and you'll appreciate being able to buy a ps3 / xbox 360 and the full rock band set up.

of course they deny it, but xbox 360 will probably have a price drop around christmas if not before...

I'm buying a 360 literally just for rock band. The games gonna end up costing me several hundred dollars more than retail just to play it :)

Same, but I feel that it is worth it, especailly in the long run with all the DLC. I bought PS2 for guitar hero, and I look at this as being no different, except much more expensive. Although I might be able to get my parents to pay for some of it for christmas.

When the game launches it will initially be for only the PS3 and Xbox 360, yes. Though I believe Harmonix has said they are looking into bringing it to other platforms. And let's face it, considering how the Wiis are selling, it would be a good (rich) move to bring Rock Band to what's probably going to be the #1 console on the planet by next year.

Yah it would definetely be a very wise move to make it for the wii, it has the compatibility with 4 controllers, so it'd be able to handle it.. Although, if they didn't, it would also mean more money for sony and microsoft (most likely microsoft will get more) because then people would buy a xbox 360 or a ps3 just to play that game. But still, it'd just be better if they released it on the wii.. I work at a store and we sell all the systems, and by far, the wii sells the most out of all of them, it actually sells by a ratio of like 10 to 1, every time we sell 10 wiis, we sell 1 xbox 360 or ps3... We even sell more PS2's then the xbox 360 and ps3

Yeah, let's not forget the publisher IS Electronic Arts, just about the most "unexclusive" publisher on the planet. I can't see them saying no to the metric ton of cash Rock Band on the Wii would net them when they have no qualms about putting every Madden, Tiger Woods, NBA and NHL game out to every platform in existence. Every. Single. YEAR.

Though I would guess that the uniqueness of the Wii console and its lesser graphical capabilities (though honestly, I don't see that being a huge issue for Rock Band since it's not really about the graphics, that's just icing) and the less-than-developed online component might make for some challenges that'll take a good long think to sort out.

I think a Wii port of Rock Band is inevitable, but probably not for 6 months to a year after the release of the PS3/360 versions. I think it'll take at least that long to iron out the kinks Wii development poses.
