The Lonely Island vs Weird Al Yankovic, who's a better COMEDY ARTIST?

wierd al made me laugh when I was a kid, never really liked lonely island, there are alot of bands I think are funnier than both of these, Bloodhound gang come to mind atm.

When it comes to parody Weird Al has this tops, especially old school Weird Al when he had a stache and glasses. Although i must say the funnier original songs go to Lonely Island. Hmmm, I'll go with Weird Al because he was the first artist outside of Michael Jackson that I liked. Although I love Andy Samberg too.

Anywho, yeah, Jizz in my Pants was entertaining for a time, On A Boat is an excellent parody of... I don't even know what. But if you check out some of their other stuff it comes off as just a horrible attempt at Tim and Eric style humor. Which is really dangerous, as sometimes they can't even pull it off.

Weird Al is far more talented at what he does , but it's hard to compare the two given that Al has always been PG and The Lonely Island is not.

That comment doesn't apply to their more popular videos like the ones I mentioned. I was mainly referring to something like We Like Sportz. That could easily be on TAEASGJ.

"On A Boat" is humorous. "Lazy Sunday" is still pretty good. The rest of the Lonely Island stuff gets old really fast.

Weird Al, for sure. Lonely Island is a "Flavor of the week" type deal. They may have another album or two, but when Andy Samberg becomes more and more popular, he'll disappear from that. Weird Al has been doing what he does for 20+ years and is still good at it (i.e. "White & Nerdy" was/still is fantastic).

I saw him in concert a year ago. The guy kicks a** live. Anybody with the balls to dress up as a Jedi and sing about Yoda is a winner in my book.

But yeah, I never really found The Lonely Island funny, I'm On a Boat is alright, as well as Natalie's Rap, Jizz in My Pants wasn't all that great, though.

The Lonely Island has created one scattershot album of largely sophomoric humor, and that's been it. In terms of quality, the name of their album says it all... "Incredibad".

Weird Al has not only had to be pinpoint sharp in terms of morphing with the musical winds, but has (with only a few misses) done so for nearly thirty years now (My Bologna was originally released in late 1979).

One artist is an SNL sketch gone horribly wrong... the other has a three-decade career in which they have continually not only gone in new directions, but done them well (who knew Weird Al could rap?).

This is a no-brainer.

Jizz in my pants was kinda funny at first but got old. I think the Puck in my Mouth spoof on College humor was better. On a Boat got old but has a couple really funny lines

Well, when i think of these two, i put them in two types of categories. TLI is the comedy band, and Weird Al is in the parodies side. Honsetly i like both, but Weird Al is more classic.

weird al is halarious. I like the 3D album, i can't remember if it is or not but I like nature trail to hell that spoofed the horror films of the 80's. But all his stuff is funny as hell.

A few years I went to a Weird Al concert on vacation. It was really fun.
