Guys,
I have a xbox360 rock band bundle that I bought a little over a week ago sitting in the closet waiting for my wife as a Christmas present, but with all of these initial bundle quality issues I have a list of questions concerning me as it sits there for 3 more weeks. I know I may not be able to get answers to all of these, but I am hoping I can get an answer to some. Any insight would be helpful and appreciated.
- Is there any way to differentiate between original and the newer magnetic versions of the Guitar without cracking it open?
- If I do have an older set, which I am almost sure I do, am I almost guarenteed to have an issue with it (reads like the failure rate is extremely high....but is is 100%)?
- Should I just crack open the box on Christmas and immediately turn around and request replacements, even if there isn't anything immediately wrong...just so I know I am getting the "revised" versions of the product?
I am concerned because by the time my wife actually unwraps this as a gift on Christmas day, it will have sat for over 30 days and that's half of the warranty gone.
Thanks in advanced for your advice and/or information.

Problem is you can't request a new guitar until yours stops working, so you'd have to take it out the box and play it until it breaks and then send a request, you might as well just give it to her now if you're going to do that. :p
