Really? If that's true it's an early PSN update.

It's true, and this is definitely earlier in the day than usual.

Same here but they're not that bad. NIB doesn't have the bass intro the original did though.

What I want to know is how the hell do you lose masters?

ok, i was really thinking that the patch was coming with the network update. seriously, im getting pissed now. When we're told something is supposed to come out a few days ago, and even with the psn update its STILL not there, its getting a little dragged out. and all this friggin top-secret treatment is not exactly a good way to handle the people who are giving you all kinds of money.

I know a bunch of people are about to jump down my throat and tell me to be patient and what not after this, but we have all been patient and look what it has gotten us, not even information regarding the subject.

I have seen coworkers get fired for treating customers like this, come on guys

I think it's less a matter of losing and more a matter of

1.) Licensing
and
2.) Recording format

Older songs didn't get recorded with separate tracks for every instrument, so they can't be used as a basis for a rock band song (you have to have separate tracks so the game and manipulate them independently for each performer).

Plus, sometimes the owner of the copyright just won't let you have the original song, but they will let you have a cover..... music companies are wacky that way.

I'm with you dude. The bottom line is, they should have had ALL these issues ironed out BEFORE they released the game!!! I'm tired of being strung along. I'll be returning RB this weekend.

The HMX guys have said and everyone else has said repeatedly that the Rock Band game update is completely unrelated to the Thursday Playstation Store update. They're two completely separate things.

Please stop posting about the patch, especially in such a confrontational manner. It will come when it comes. We're all anxious, but we have to try to be patient as well.

It's not even breathing hard....

(Couldn't resist... Sorry. :D)

Look, they havnt even said exactly what the patch will do. Everyone is still guessing at this point. I work in software, and when a customer has an issue, we give them DAILY status updates. As in "we are trying to duplicate the problem" "here is a workaround" "we have a patch in QA, it will take 2 weeks".

It is the slience that is maddening.

I think it would be cool if they could just keep the original vocals and do a cover of the instruments in some cases. Usually the cover of the instruments is pretty dam close, but you can't copy the singer perfectly. I'm not sure if the vocals have a different track always, or the recordings are either colpletely multitrack or not.

No, it's the saying that a patch would be out two days ago when it's not now. That's what maddening. I'm really trying to be patient with HMX, but it's wearing really thin. Come on, release the patch and get some DLC money from me.

I don't fault them for giving out information a couple of days ago. I think it's better knowing that a patch is coming rather than if they had just continued to give us the silent treatment where we don't know what the heck is going on.

However, the waiting is frustrating because once again, we don't know what's happening behind the scenes. I can be patient but, I have to admit I'll be rather frustrated and disappointed if this thing isn't out before the weekend. At the very least, we should have a better explanation than we're getting now if this thing is going to be delayed into next week.

OK, two things:
1st We pretty much got an announcement that they have a patch that will allow us to use non Rock Band guitars for Rock Band. That shows that they care and that we should be getting that issue resolved. Now, that is freaking awesome since that is pretty much what we all wanted to know.

2nd The delay should not be a problem if it is because they are making sure that the patch works 100% Coding software is like writing a song. There are days when your coding just flows and flows and everything feels like magic, while there are other days when it is very frustrating because you feel like you are stuck on the same thing. Therefore, it is tough to come up with a release date. I know this because I'm a software developer and believe me it is not an easy task. There is no ON/OFF button when enabling functionality through code.
