Uhh, you should probably clarify what instrument you're trying to play on.

EDIT: Glad to see someone was quick to edit the title :)

MCFLYYYY.

I'd put my money on drums.

66% is during the solo so ;D it could be drums or guitar.

Your drums are probably broken. Play on expert to confirm.

It's a galloping pattern. So if you can make your brain do it, try to break it down into 3s. Just like the bass part of the same song.

I, however, can not do that if my f**king life depended on it. So here's what I did. Save up all your star power in the beginning. When the gallops start, base everything off of your foot and right hand, back and forth. The bass pedal is one beat, the right hand on yellow is the next beat, then back to foot, then back to your right hand. Add a slight pause after each yellow, then just do a 6 note roll on Red starting with your right hand. Your 7th note should be yellow with your right hand. Use the star power as needed, but for the most part use those drum fills as your chance to relax and re-center yourself.

That's the trick I used. Just play right through the pause between the two sets of 3 notes, and you have a better shot. Only other tip I can think of is on the rolls of yellow, they're slower then you think they are, so make sure you're not rushing.

Good luck. I hate that song.

i love that song, but i havent got to it on hard drums yet. i think i only got three stars on medium. hope the frustration doesnt make me hate the song.

I can't beat that song either... :( too hard. It's the only thing keeping me from beating hard. I already play on expert, and I am on the 5th set of songs. I can beat the songs cause I already tried them, but I haven't played them in career :D So... back on topic, I can't beat the song either and it's the only thing keeping me from 30 Gamerpoints :(

YEah, it really sucks on hard drums

Try skipping the yellows.

So RR(R+bass) RR (skip Y).

It'll deduct you less than missing a bass hit or any of the reds and you probably can last longer.

It took me forever to beat and I probably couldn't go back and do it again if I tried, ha.

Ok, I just beat this bad boy... Litterally... like just a few minutes ago...

The only recommendation I can give you is practice, practice, practice! I picked the "Fast Part" to "Chorus A" section as a good cross section to work on, over and over. I started at 50% and did that repeatedly until I could sufficiently get 95%+ a couple times in a row. Then I bumped it up to 60% and repeated... Then 70%. Once I got to 80%, I lowered my requirements to 85% or better. Then 90%, then Full Speed. Once I got there, I practiced the whole thing on Full Speed. I noticed there was that double-time bass kick in the Guitar Solo sections, so I practiced that a couple times as well. Then, just went into solo play. Failed the first attempt in the Guitar Solo section at 66%, then retried and beat it.

For technique, I noticed I have a tendency to want to do the R/R/R R/R/Y rolls Left/Right/Left Left/Right/Left, which leaves me really awkward for the last Left-Handed Yellow hit. So I tried something bizarre... I Lefty-Flipped the pads. This gave me a G/G/G G/G/B roll. It was a bit of an odd feeling to twist that way at first, but I got used to it. Once I did that, everything sort of fell into place...

Practice those rolls in the beginning and get Overdrive charged up. Then Fill-Skip as much as you can until right before the Guitar Solo sections and activate it. (At least that's where I was about to crash and burn anyway, so it saved me, too.) Hang on for dear life and hope you make it!

The big thing is just to figure out how you best do the quick sets of three and pick the pad orientation that suits you to hit the inner pad with the appropriately facing hand.

Hope it helps, some!

I'm at about the same point you are on that song--The bass pedal is the most important part to get right, and correct bass pedal + red pad mashing will usually keep you stable on the meter even if it's not pleasant. I took it into practice mode to work on keeping my regular half note bass beat while trying to play the galloping 16th notes, and that got me through to the part where they become bass quarter notes. I promptly failed out when my foot started flailing on the quarter notes, so next is taking that section into practice.

I beat the hell out of this song on expert but I almost failed it on hard. It is because of the galloping pattern which is not natural for me as a drummer because that is not how the drum part is written so I think it is a little more of a challenge on hard. The post above me had some good advice in it. It is all about getting passed the galloping pattern.

Get your star power - then don't activate it until you REALLY REALLY need to. You can use the fill breaks to take a rest and by not activating SP (overdrive, sorry!) you can skip playing sections. Sure it'll hurt your score, but if all you're trying to do is pass then it doesn't matter.

Personally I think the song is easier on expert because it DOESNT have the galloping pattern.

Either way, it's the only drum song in the game that I despise playing - not because it's difficult mind you, but because it's tiring and just not fun to me :)
