Harmonix or EA or whoever manufactures the drum kit pedal should really consider manufacturing it with a much stronger material other than plastic.
I am a real percussionist myself, and I play on expert on Rock Band. But in order to play on expert, it takes alot of time and practice to perfect the songs. That much time on a plastic drum pedal puts alot of strain and pressure on it, and as result, will break sooner than expected. Playing on expert is almost close to playing on a real drumset, but on a real drumset, the pedal is made out of some metal alloy or something of the like.
So, whoever manufactures the pedal, please consider changing the material it's made out of. It will save you guys and your customers the trouble.
Thank you.

I agree cause I just broke the flimsy plastic drum kit pedal while playing "Won't Get Fooled Again" (HARD). I wasn't even pounding on the pedal that hard either; Inever even stomp on it. Though I should of seen it coming. Two or three inches away from where the pedal is attached to (the end closes to you) I always felt it bending inwards. I dismissed it but now i'm stuck with a broken pedal.
I did for the meanwhile use Scotch packaging tape to hold it together. It works, but it doesn't feel the same. I could probably get used to it, but i'm considering contacting Tech Support and inquiring about the possiblity of paying for the part I broke (basically the flat plastic you put your feet on). It seems easy to disassemble my current broken one and put on a new one, but they probably won't sell me that piece since they'd rather have me purchase a brand new kit.

if they built it with better material it would cost more...just fyi.
they had to go cheap on things to make it "affordable" for everyone.

It's just an opening for the "expert" line RB controllers.. all metal all the time! Somebody's gotta do it.;)

Reinforcement is very easy to do.

That is an issue that Harmonix/EA must look at whether they like it or not.

All final products shouldn't have to be reinforced by the purchaser to extend its lifespan.
Perhaps for an automobile? In some circumstances, yes. But for Rock Band? A video game? No.
