Does anyone know any good websites for finding a band to join or people to start a band with?

I've tried craig's list but that isn't working very well.

Thank you

I always find open mic nights are a good way to find people for bands.

Do that thing were you make a paper and put the bottom of it into little strips and write your number on the strips so people needing a bandmate will see it and take a strip and call you.

Put it in laundry mats and ****.

At least there you can find people with similar DLC. That's always a start.

I was actually thinking about doing those sheets of paper with the strips on the bottom.

Every time i see one almost all of the little strips are taken. If you do it you havta be keen on detail and be specific.

Ok. Like what specific details are on them so I can get idea as to what to put on them?

Weeell I gotta be honest here and say that all the ones I see are for babysitters and handymen. those sorts of things.

But I would imagine you would want to write about the instrument you play, how well you play it, music you like and what bands inspire you, what kind of band you're looking for, things of that nature.

Looking for <instrument> influenced by: <band> <band> and <band> is an ok format.

I mean that's how Frank Black found Kim Deal for the Pixies...

Ok. Thats basically what I did for craig's list but I haven't got anything back from that yet.

And I remeber that Rock Band Loading Screen for the Pixies.

I'm a drummer. I have a friend and brother who both play guitar and like metal. I don't know what's gonna happen.

Yeah do this, I see alot of these things posted at guitar center. Or if you go to concerts just talk to people and maybe they play an insterment.

I met my guitarist at a gas station, and the bassist is my friends neighbor. so you never know where you will meet bandmates, but do the paper thing .

I would probably just put flyers up 'round town about a member lookin' for a guitarist, and a vocalist.

If that doesn't work, try the alternative, search for people who play really good on instruments.

( The hard path. )

I just decided that I'll wait till I got to college (August) and I'll put up flyers around campus b/c I'm sure theres gotta be some people at the college who want to be in a band

I actually just got a text today from a pop punk band asking me to play for them (this is from the craig's list ad) so I said Yes and we'll see what happens from here.
