About online game modes

Will there by any chance be a mode online where two bands will go up against each other? Like they will play 1 song and at the end of the match their scores will be compared and what not?

I believe someone has said there will be band battles..I could be mistaken though.

The website lists head-to-head, and Band Co-op/World Tour modes, but no Band-on-Band action.

It would be pretty hard to fit six different tracks and two vocal streams on the screen at once.

in terms of online play this woulnd't be the case The_spike

like with gears of war your screen will only represent the amount of players you have connected to your console. this could work and could possibly even be a feature. most likely it will just be leaderboards which is the same thing.

head 2 head action would be awesome if other users could watch the performances and the avatars activities represented how well the song is bieg played, not just canned animations that they always do. one of the things i just noticed inguitar hero and even in the rock band video is that the guitarist is for the most part, doing all the things you do on a real guitar when you play in terms of finger positiiong and technique. like when you hit the whammy bar they usually tremolo the strings (your onscreen dude). i mean forza has what...up to 8 players at once and you can view the races so its not like the technology isn't there.

You say that like they would have to show all the tracks on both screens... that would be stupid. They would obviously put each bands track on their respective screens.

I think that would seem like the natural course of the game. I hope this is in Rock Band. It seems to me that it would be only natural for there to a be a battle of the bands. There will definately be scoreboards showing off your bands high scores. Battle of the bands is a great idea though and I hope it is in the game. You wouldn't need to see everyone on screen, but just the end results.
