I have spent weeks now trying to figure out why my Rock Band 2 data won't save. (Not exactly a new topic around here) But I can't get my DLC working either. I re-downloaded all the songs and it still didn't work. I have tried saving the game to my hard drive and that still didn't work. I even tried starting from scratch but the next time I played I was back where I started. I have checked many sites telling me the only way to fix this is to start over, but I can't do that either. (I even tried turn on the Auto-Save as well as manual saving) I got a new hard drive recently and switched the data over to that, and it still didn't solve anything. Please help!

Are you using any of the game modifications such as "No Fail", "Choose Venue" or "Unlock all songs".
If you are, the option to save is turned off when those are activated.
If that's not your issue, we need more details.

No cheats. It's just that after the loading screen (Opening song 'Hello There') it will say 'press start'. I do so, it starts loading, and then says 'cannot load saved data. Saving has been disabled.' Then it tells me to re-enable saving. But when I try,it tells me that saving has been disabled again.

You on Xbox or PS3? I'm leaning toward PS3, but I could be wrong.

Xbox 360.

Ok, are you logging into your profile? You have to have a profile to save the data to.
I guess the best thing you can do is give me a step by step of everything you do. Leave out no detail and let's see what we come up with.

Sorry it took me so long to reply. (Internet was down) Ok, one day I put in Rock Band 2 after logging into my Xbox Live Gold account. Then the game loads, and it plays the intro song/video. After the video, it brings me to the main menu. After I get to the menu it says 'loading saved data'. After a few seconds it says 'data could not be saved.' This started happening after I started using a new xbox, but I can't figure out the problem.

Dude, I'm stumped.
I'm thinking you save file is corrupted. I would recommend you move it to a memory unit and try to load the game with a fresh save file. If it loads fine, that's your problem. I'm afraid you will lose all you current data, but at least you'll be able to save your progress.
You might want to call Microsoft or EA.

Go to where your files are saved on your 360's HDD and delete your profile. I'm guessing it's corrupt, just like mine was a few days ago. It wouldn't load on my friend's 360, some Xbox Live functions wouldn't work, etc... don't worry about your save games or downloads, deleting your profile won't affect them, as long as you don't select "Delete Profile And Items", just select profile only.
After you've deleted your profile, go to sign in and select "Recover Gamertag" or something along those lines, it'll take about 30-60 minutes to do so. You'll need to enter your gamertage, email and email password associated with the account.

Ok, that works. But I still have one more problem. The DLC won't load! If I can't play my DLC I don't want to play Rock Band 2 at all! Sure I can finally play all of my rock band 2 songs (Because I refuse to use the 'unlock all songs' malarkey), but it just isn't the same. I have tried re-downloading all 180-some songs again, but that didn't do anything at all. I hate xbox sometimes.

If it's a new Xbox or new HDD, you may have to transfer the licenses for all your DLC, including RB songs, arcade games, themes, etc... see here. Just a heads up, you can only do this one a year, so if you're not exactly sure this is the problem, and you're thinking of getting a new 360 or HDD sometime soon, call up MS and ask before doing this.
Let me guess, are you hooked up to the internet when you play RB? If not, that's probably why they won't load.

That's the link to migrate your licenses to a new console/HDD.

We have another problem. The game worked for a little while ,but stopped working a few minutes ago and is now tellig me that the saving device is 'unavailable.' (It always seems to be one problem after another with my xbox)
Edit: Ok, I restarted my xbox and now everything is ok. I am going to try and fix the DLC now.

Sounds like your HDD is bad based on everything going on in this thread. May be time for a new one.

Didn't your new HDD come with a data transfer cable? If it still doesn't work, I suggest calling MS and asking whether or not you need to migrate your licenses.

Yes, I already transfered my data ro my other Hard Drive.
Ok, so the saving problem is solved. But I going to xbox.com and doing the data migration thing, but that ALSO did not help. The DLC still will not show up.

Is your 360 connected to the net when you play? Did you download those songs on another console? On another gamertag?

I'd suggest deleting ALL your RB2 data, and redownloading. Still sounds like something is corrupted.
If you want to back up your RB2 save first, you can try that.

I have tried ALL of these suggestions now, and still nothing. Nothing is corrupted, re-downloading won't work, and the DLC still isn't there.
