There is no such cheat or option. You could use No Fail Mode if you have Rock Band 2, though.

Because the store demo versions of the game DO have that option so that stores aren't constantly having their kick pedals stolen and/or broken.

The retail release of the game (as in, the one you bought) does NOT have that option.

Hey davidshek!! I've been reading your posts ever since I was looking into buying the Ion pro-rocker and was researching the forums. Now that I've had it a while, turned the cymbals and module in for replacement, gotten them back, tweaked them more (added bushings-adjusted casing screws) and gotten them working 99%; can you tell me if using an E-kit bass drum setup is compatible with RB2? I'm thinking of a standard vertical bass drum pad (Yamaha) w/my Sonor single pedal. This is really the option I want to go with as I purchased an actual DM-5 brain and will be rolling this type of setup with it as the DM-5 brain (of course) doesn't recognize the cheesdick hi-hat footswitch that ships with the ION as a bass drum note like RB2 does. I guess my main question is, will RB2 recognize an actual bass drum trigger or does it have to be the footswitch? If the pad is an option, does it have to be a specific pad? I like the Yamaha because it has a stand alone base that doesn't need to mount to a rear x-bar.

RB2 needs to have a footswitch-type signal. But here's the thing, with what you want to do, you have several options.

1) You can use a kick trigger pad like the Yamaha KP65 or Roland KD-8 with the Ion drums, but you need to have something to translate the signal into something that RB understands. That something would be a Kickbox, and it costs $65 (or you can build one yourself, the schematics have been posted on this board somewhere):

2) You can use your DM5 brain through some kind of MIDI converter, like the GH:WT drum kit. With the DM5, you can use your kick trigger pad directly, and also use the Ion's stock pedal as the Hi-Hat controller pedal.
