Unable to play songs

Whenever I'm disconnected from xbox live, all of a sudden I can't access most of my downloaded tracks (the preview won't play, the cover art won't load, and it breaks if I try to play it anyway), so my question is how do I stop this from happening, my router sucks so it's gunna happen all the time.
