View Full Version : Need some luck and motivation

Starting June 1st, I'm starting a bootcamp workout program. I have decided not to take my thyroid medicine (I have hypothyroidism), I hate the thought of being on medication for my entire life. Instead, I'll just work out a ton to keep my metabolism going.

Its an 8 week program, really intense bootcamp-style workout, 3 times a week for an hour. I'm totally excited.

I just cant work out alone, i have no motivation, but if I have someone yelling at me to do it, I'll be more apt to do it. I think I'm going to take some pre-program measurements next week to track my success. If it works well enough (not just lbs loss, but inches as well), I'll probably keep doing it. Its 200 bucks for 8 weeks, so while it seems expensive, its also helping regulate my body and get me back down to my pre-thyroid weight and size. I hate seeing soo many clothes in boxes that I cant wear :(

/cue Rocky intro.

Edit to add: this is my birthday present to myself, so that's how I'm justifying the huge amount of cost. ;)

Good luck with the program! I hope it works out for you. :)

If you ever start feeling tired and achy from the program and it makes you want to quit, come back here and we'll try to motivate you. And also remember that box of clothes you want to wear. That can help motivate you too!

Well I officially signed up for the class today and forked over my 220 dollars. I think I'm going to create a blog so my friends, family and forum goers can see my progress :)

Blogging is an excellent way to keep focused on workout schedules. Good idea

Its more because i have my sister and my bf's family all across the US from me, so rather than call 5 or 6 people about how i'm doing, its a lot easier to email and say "Blog updated!!" and let them read about it in their leisure.

Also will be nice to go back and see how hard it was starting out (because I'm sure it will be) to see the success I will have at the end (and if/when it works out well enough, i'll be continuing the bootcamp sessions until I get to my goal). I mean the before/after shots alone will be motivation for me after my first session :)

Fantastic idea, it is much easier to keep yourself motivated when you have told a bunch of people you know that you are doing it. If you do not tell anyone it is much easier to cheat :).

lol its not actual boot camp, its a boot camp fitness program - classes are 3 times a week for an hour.

Excellent, good luck with it Daes!

We have one of those boot camp training programs here in Vegas. I was able to see them a couple times at the park where I played softball. They do some pretty hardcore stuff, but nothing *too* taxing. They'll push you to your limits, and make you strive for more, but just remember it all pays off in the end!

If you truly need motivation, throw on the first half hour of Full Metal Jacket every morning and have good ol' Lee Ermey yell at you. :D

I need to get back to running again myself...I've been too lazy lately. x.x
