View Full Version : Any way to tell how new/old your stuff is?

I bought Rock Band on 11/30 and nothing has broke yet (but the guitar still sucks overall... it works, but it sucks, and it's hard to play).
I've read around and it seems that some of your guys' stuff differs from mine. So my question is: Is there a way to tell what "version"of stuff I have? Do I have the defective release equipment, or the second/third/fourth wave of stuff that was allegedly "fixed"? Sometimes the serial number on the box or equipment can be the key... has anyone deciphered this yet?

Hm... *bump*, so.
There are serial numbers on the guitars (and drums, too, I believe). Has anyone figured out what the numbers mean?
As an example, for iPod Touches, the last two numbers in the serial number identify the week in which it was manufactured. There was a defect in them prior to week 38 iPods, then it was fixed.
I'm looking for something similar for Rock Band peripherals. Any ideas? If not... I'll make a thread and have everyone post their serial numbers and do some math and figure it out myself.

There's a sticker on the bottom of the boxes that have a date on them. That's what I was asking about in a thread I made a minute ago. Would have written it all here if I had found this one earlier. I'd like to find out all the dates that people have and try to determine which has the best success rate, if any of them have a very good one.
