His movies are bad because he wants them to fail. German investors give him lots of money because you get a huge tax break for investing in films and only have to pay taxes if the movie makes money. If the film performs at a loss than the investors pay no taxes on the money giving them a huge tax break. He's a very rich man who has a lot of fun doing what he's doing. The actors make money, the game companies make money, and the German government has really only loses money they didn't have yet and keep the film industry thriving in the country. The only ones who suffer are the fans of the games but I don't think bad movies are such a bad thing. They are fun to make fun of.
