So after a few weeks of playing I find that my only complaints are I still hate the new hammer ons, I just can't seem to get use to them and I often find myself strumming through them just because they aren't as fun to play as in Guitar Hero and if anyone's played GH3 they would know how easy and fun it is to nail hammer ons but in Rock Band it just isn't doing it for me. I know it's two different games and they are going for a different approach but I really wish they were the same as before.
Anyone agree or have you all gotten use to them by now?

The Rock Band hammer-ons require you to have rhythm in your fret hand. It was like this in Guitar Hero 1, and I actually got pretty good at it.
I like the hammer-ons in this game. Really makes you listen and play with the music.

That is very true, just by listening to the song you can tell when a hammer-on is coming next. I just wish they at least kept the white ring around them so you could spot them on screen easier in fast songs.

I don't have any problems seeing the new hammer-ons. Much easier to see than the way they distinguished them in Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero 2 in my opinion.

GH3 was insanely lax (and lazy) in their HOPOs. GH2 is the best middle ground between GH2 and GH3, and RB has the same timing. As for spotting them, I've ogtten quite used to RB. (I just tried playing GH2 and I was missing them all over the place.)

With the tighter window for hitting the hammer-ons, I feel like the game makes me work a little harder to achieve perfection. Sure, it's a little frustrating once in a while, but I think it makes me a better player in the end.
GH3 was just ridiculous. I could just hit the next hammer-on at my leisure and leave it held down, then the game would register it. It's one thing to be sloppy, but that was just crazy.
