Gamespot? You know most contests are more about the popularity of a game than the quality of it. Especially when the people get to vote... it says little about the game itself, just how many people liked it, played it, or even knew about it. I can't count how many times I've heard the saying "Well, I haven't played it, but I know it's really popular, so it must be a good game."

I can't bring myself to vote a game Game of the Year when I've owned it 2 weeks and have only had a working guitar for 2 days of that time.

Once I'm actually able to use full functionality of the game - I may change my mind.
They need to fix their hardware problems first - that's a component of the whole game experience.

Maybe Rock Band 2.

I'm a tremendous fan of Rock Band... if it was game only, sure I'd vote for GOTY. However, with the hardware problems, I just can't do it.

CoD 4 is fantastic (I have friends that aren't big FPS junkies that tried it out and picked it up), and Bioshock was compelling for more than just the shooting experience.

So yeah, those two I agree with.

Well it's really closer to 40 days as it should've been here Nov. 20th wich is just kind of a piss off at this point and considering how things work around the holidays I doubt it'll even get here the 28th if it was delayed wich probably puts it into next year.

Then again with all the stuff that's breaking,no intro in N.I.B. and finding out Sony jacked up the DLC prices there's been some benifit.

Yeah, I don't get FPS games.

You go around killing stuff in the first person. It simulates a real life experience.

The problem, though, is that console FPS games are terrible. Terrible controls, terrible experience and simply not very true-to-their-roots. They've introduced terrible mechanics that simply do not belong in a first person game but continue to put them in.

If you ever get the chance, play a FPS like HL2 on PC.
