"We recently became aware that some consumers have not been able to enjoy the full audio output in the Nintendo Wii version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. We are currently working with Nintendo and are planning to issue an improved audio experience in future versions of the game," said Activision spokeswoman Rhy-Ming Poon. "We expect to have re-mastered discs available by early 2008 and we will be offering consumers replacement discs at no cost once they become available. We thank all of our customers for their support and patience."
Good news for Wii owners.

Thank goodness. Not because the issue really bugs me, but because the comments of the Wii-haters really bug me. :)
I wonder what they will require as proof of purchase. I hope they will mail out the new disc before you have to send in your old one (assuming they want them)

New discs seems a bit extreme, can't they do a software patch like other next gen systems?

I don't believe the Wii supports game patches. The same thing happened with that Zelda glitch - Nintendo sent out new discs.

In the downloadable content area, Wii doesn't support much, except when it comes to their "channels."
