View Full Version : Hitting my yellow pad triggers the red pad as well.

I have an interesting problem with my drum pads.... I had to tape down the red pad like a lot of people have. But, I also have this problem where if I hit the yellow pad moderately hard, my red pad gets triggered too. So this ruins a lot of score multipliers from streaks. Anybody else have this? Have a suggestion (besides play really softly)?

Sounds like you taped the red pad too far down. The reason the pads are "floating" on rubber feet is because vibration can cause the sensor to trigger. By taping down the pad, you are making it more prone to vibrations.

This is correct. The drum sensors work by detecting vibrations. You bypassed the vibration damping, so now vibrations from other pads can trigger the red pad.

RMA your drums for a set with a working red pad.

hmmm. Ok I think I get it. Problem is I just got this new set yesterday from the RMA...lol.
Maybe I just taped it down too far, I can try to tape it down with a little bigger gap.
