Reinforcing drum pedal voids warranty?

If I reinforce my kick pedal with a metal plate or something else, will it void my warranty even though I haven't "opened" it?

there are ways to do it w/o voiding your warranty, like using double-sided tape instead of screwing it on. basically, just make sure you can undo whatever you do without leaving any noticeable signs.
