How do i take my RB2 pedal apart?

I'm just wondering, mainly the actual foot pedal is what i need to know, i need to clean it as my son spilled juice all over it and it sticks when i press down on it, so what im asking is, how do i remove the foot pedal part attached with the spring.

Use an awl or a small screwdriver and gently hammer out the pin at the heel of the pedal. Once that's out, you should be able to push down on the pedal and shift it forward and it'll pop right out.

Clean it up, dry it off, reverse the procedure to put it back together.

Also to note, if anyone else needs to know, I hammered the pin out until i couldn't go any further, and then i twisted it out using needle nose pliers
