Hey all,

I just bought a used 120GB Hard Drive for my 360 at GameStop. I have the 360 Lite version with a 20GB HD that is almost full. Obviously, I'd like to transfer that content to the 120.

I'm seeing now that there's a way to transfer one-time from the 20 to the 120, but it requires a cable and disk that did not come with the used HD I just bought.

So basically, I just want to make absolutely sure before I go back to GameStop and raise a fuss. You NEED that cable/disk if you want to transfer content? There's no possible way to do it short of that?

Thanks!

Well, you could do it with an Xbox Memory Unit too if you wanted to, but it would probably take a while. :)

But basically, yeah, you need that Transfer Kit.

A hard drive is not the kind of thing I'd normally recommend buying used. Despite advances in technology, they're still delicate devices, and I wouldn't want to not have the legitimate manufacturer's warranty on something like that. You should consider returning it and buying it new, that way you get the warranty and it includes the transfer kit in the package.

I just bought the 60 gig HDD and it didn't come with the kit. You'll need to go through xbox.com and order one. There's an order page you can print out and mail or fax. I faxed it last Friday and got the kit Wednesday.

By the way, if your 20 gig HDD was full, it'll take about an hour and a half to transfer.
