View Full Version : Sick of all the hating!

There seems to be two distinct groups on these forums, the HMX fanboys and the haters. I love my Rockband, everything still works perfect, (I tell everyone playing with me to be a little gentle with the equipment) and I'm having a blast with it.

Now I realize that if your game came with faulty equipment you have reason to be a little frustrated but HMX/ EA seem to be handling it well enough. My 360 is dead right now but I'm not on the Xbox forums hating a making a rucus, sure I'm frustrated but I still love my box.

And fanboys please calm down, lol. some of you guys get so defensive its kinda funny! take a break and go play a few songs!!

I would say it breaks down into three groups:

The calm people.

The angry people/flamers/children.

The REALLY angry people (like the Canadian Porn Poster).

I'm probably a Harmonix fanboy. I had to get a guitar replaced, I wish there was online BWT, and there a bunch of little criticisms I could make about the game.

But the big picture is that this game is ridiculously fun and I love it. And Harmonix seems a lot more focused on trying to help everyone have a great music experience than on hitting their quarterly numbers. I think that people who have been on the forums longer tend to see the big picture a little better.

If you are a heterosexual male or a lesbian, that whole incident was not nearly as exciting as it may sound.

Sounds like you need to get things squared away between you and your wife. I'm not sure Harmonix can do a lot about that.

That was well worth the price of a new monitor I need now from getting that Pepsi bath. :D

The words "rock" and "gentle" do not work together. I don't want to play gently! I try hard to play my drums quietly (apartment living), but as the difficulty ratchets up you are forced to hit harder to stay in time. Regardless, Harmonix should not have made fragile equipment that requires the rocker to rock out less...

Your equipment all works great? That's nice...thanks for that.:mad::mad::mad:

good old 10/20...

I think the groups are:

1. The regulars (guys who have been around since before October)

2. The Temporary Trolls (guys who will be gone once their problems are resolved)

3. The cool noobs (guys who seem like they might make good community guys once this all gets ironed out)

I think they do it on purpose for the "post count=clout" theory. I only post when I feel it's necessary. And then one time I posted unnecessarily in a thread called "Sick of all the hating!"

You mean like triple posting in every thread that has a complaint? Now who does that....

Well, I go off join date and post value (ie, do they actually contribute to the discussion), so post count is meaningless. Hence why I only have 400 now, instead of the 2,000 I could have since I registered.

Yeah, that's really annoying. I hate when people do this. There's even the 30 second timer that tries to prohibit this!

I'd put you more in the troll category. And I'm kinda iffy on the avatars. I've gotten used to them being gone, and I'm afraid of people deciding they should have an almost NSFW nearly nude woman as their avatar. The people prior to the launch at least had enough common sense to keep the avatars reasonable. I'm not so sure of the new group.

Well we have the ability to moderate that stuff, so no big deal.

FIFY.

I certainly understand that things can be moderated, it's just there's a certain chance that we see if before you catch it. Similar to the porn posters.

I know, the answer is for me simply to not browse the forums at work right? ;)

But you guys wouldn't want me gone... right?

I've been goin' steady with harmonix since frequency, which most people would believe places me in the fanboy category. I just have a great love for music based games and i know good games when i see them. I started off importing DDR, but now i think i just like unconventional games...anyway I just don't see why my opinion should be devalued because I enjoy Harmonix games so much. Shoot, I'm still mad that amplitude didn't keep frequency's full circle system and went flat instead

I think we forgot category 4: The "I'm a new guy but I know everything about everything and I'm going to be condescending to everyone I come in contact with" (read Soul Screme)

Is it just me or am I the only one who thinks this guy is a 100% Grade A Douchebag? I mean for Christ's sakes, he even told the handicapped guy in the wheelchair to just deal with his handicap and come to grips with the fact he'll never play dums correctly. That takes a set of balls if you ask me.
