So, a while back the XBox Live Arcade game "Boom Boom Rocket" was patched to work with... a certain other company's guitar controllers, and you can play the game with guitar.
Does the game also work with the Rock Band guitar controller? I do not have one, so I cannot try it myself. The game is a free download (trial mode, anyhow), so any XBox player with a Rock Band guitar controller should be able to test this.
(I hope it adds support for the drums soon. If you try the game out, I think you'll agree that the drums would be the perfect peripheral for it.)

I think the update was for any input device like the ddr pad and gutars, stands to reason you could use the drums as well..ill try it tonight.

It works. Not much fun to me though.

If definitely works and they added 5 new songs for free. I was a little concerned at first because the tilt sensor wasn't activating the "star power" multiplier for it on the RB Strat, but I eventually found it. It is the first click on the effects selector!!? You have to pull it all the way up and then push it down at least one click to activate. It's not quite as easy as how the Les Paul activated it (tilt) but it works. You also don't have to strum to hit the rockets. Just like the solo buttons, it auto strums for you.
It's a little tough to get used to playing it on the harder levels because I am more attuned to screen position that color. For instance ,when the rockets are coming at me fast and I see one on the left side, I'll hit green and it will be the wrong color.
Because of these differences, this is a very challenging game using the guitar, but it is pretty trippy and has a diff style of music to it. It was worth the MS points

Aaaah, I get it. It's working like a normal controller! Otherwise you'd have to strum.
Maybe a future patch will configure it to work as a guitar controller rather than a regular controller, then you'll have to strum and tilting will work.

I basically don't like boom book rocket, I think it was poorly put together and rushed out just to make a few bucks... they could of made it so much better but I'd must rather play Rock Band using my guitar than using it on boom boom rocket.

I have to disagree. It's a nice little side project. It's not GH, RB, DDR, or Gitaroo Man. I personally love Boom Boom Rocket. :D
