Any updates on free EA game?

For those that got the email about the free EA game for the guitar delays, have any of you heard anything else about this?

All I know is my buddy talked to EA Support yesterday about his guitar issue and then asked about the free game and they told him that you will be able to pick any PS3 game that EA makes except Mass Effect or Orange Box. They said something should be coming soon about it.

mass effect is 360 exclusive...

and they say orange box for ps3 has many framerate issues and internet issues.

I know Mass Effect is on the 360 but that is what they told him. I said the same thing when they told him that Mass Effect is one that you can't get. Anyways just passing on what I have heard. It did come straight from EA Support because I heard it yesterday when he was talking to them. I am also one that get's to pick a game because of the guitar issues so I was excited about the news yesterday.

Im one of those people that updated my question on the EA website. As you may know, this resulted in a glitch in the system and it didn't actually get shiped. So on Wednesday I called to see why the UPS site said the "billing info still received" thing. So the person on the phone fixed the glitch and the Guitar was sent that day. While I had them on the phone I told them I got an email about a free game and ask what I had to do to recieve it. The girl said she could go ahead an process that for me. I asked for Mass Effect and she said anything but that and Orange Box. So I got TW 08. I even got a tracking number for the free game and it has already been shipped and scheduled for delivery on Tuesday.

Interesting. Well, maybe we'll all get an email soon with instructions on how to obtain the free game. Maybe they are creating a site to order that through or something...who knows :)

That is exactly what I was just told also. They also said you had to request the guitar between specific days when the delays were happening or you would not have received the free game email.

I guess I got lucky. They seemed really cool about everything. I wasn't even too worried about it because I use the Les Paul guitar anyway.

You guys should get Skate though. I would have gotten it but I just bought it a week before the free game offer. They even said you can get PC games as well.

Has anyone received their free game yet? I chose NHL 08 off the list Dec. 17th and have yet to receive my game and it is now Jan. 6th. I didn't even receive a confirmation email that i have requested the game yet. I understand that EA is probably very busy with all the stuff they need to ship right now, and i do appreciate getting a game for free, but it would be nice to get an email confirming that i filled out the forms correctly. It would be reassuring to know other people are having this problem.

I picked my game [Skate] the day I got the e-mail providing my choices. That was December 17th... and not a word, confirmation, or package since. Wouldn't be surprising if it was all a gimmick just to have angry customers settle down or think they're getting a deal.

heh, I chose the same game waaaay back in Dec, and haven't heard a word about it yet. I'm starting to worry that by the time we get NHL 08, it will be release day of NHL 09...

Keep in mind the respond to date was like Jan 10 or something like that. So they'll ship after that. If I remember corractly they are supposed to be out by the 17th or 27th. Just a little more patience, and we'll all be jamming on free games. I'm waiting on MOHA for pc.

If they didn't really have the intent or the capability to distribute these games, they should not have promised them.

That makes sense because EA doesn't make either of those games, they just distribute them. The only problem with that statement is "PS3". You can pick stuff for a variety of systems (PS3, 360, PS2, Wii, PC).

I believe that mine came UPS. It was left inside the front door, which the femailman doesn't do unless it can't fit in the mailbox, which this could have easily.
