View Full Version : Stop Closing Threads

I have nearly $500 tied up in this package.

Guitar Hero 3 (purchased for Rock Band) $100
Rock Band $170
Money tied up in peripheral exchange $200
TOTAL: $470 for one game that doesn't work

As an paying customer I feel I should have the right to come on these forums and demand answers, vent, etc. Instead, every time a thread comes up where I'm venting or trying to get (deserved) answers, the thread gets shut down. I'm not writing in ALL CAPS or using profane language, just rightfully angry and feeling very disenfranchised by all this thread policing. Why can't those of us vent our frustrations freely without HMXYesMan shutting it down every time?

This thread will probably be shut down in a few minutes...I will probably be banned. I'm just getting tired of this...vague, corporate, non-committal statements are all we get from Harmonix. Rock and Roll is about freedom of speech, and we are being denied that on this website.

Harmonix--please get this sorted out, you are ruining everybody's weekend, again. You should be flattered that your game is so influential that it's ruining lives when it doesn't work.

Also, can you at least let us know with certainty that this patch will fix the PS3 compatibility issue? If not, I'd like to try and sell GH3 before Xmas on eBay for my troubles.

Patience isn't your strong suit?

Also, in before lock ;)

If your life or weekend is ruined because of a game you have some serious issues.

Sorry you're having trouble understanding why things like this are necessary. I hope it makes more sense when you get older and wiser, or when you start your own business. You should also try forum moderating some time. You learn really quickly why things like this happen.

Hope things work out for you!

Weekends Ruined: 0
Things I feel a purchase entitles me to aside from a consumer warranty: 0
Demands I feel I should make at a company that just released a game: 0
Things I would like to see in the game: 2
Forum-goers that think $170 buys them space on a forum server to "vent/complain" when the forums aren't free to host and feedback sections exist: innumerable

Your topics are being closed because they're redundant.

You are not entitled to anything beyond what you purchased, which was a game and working peripherals. If the periphs don't work, then you do have a warranty included in which you will receive brand new ones until they do work as promised. That is all you are entitled to, and you are getting even more than that with the way EA is handling returns (i'm on my second set of drums and second guitar at the moment - don't foresee myself needing another), and Harmonix is doing a service by creating patches and downloadable content.

If you want to vent, do it in one of the threads devoted to it. Don't make a new one that clutters the forums. Your voice is heard, but whether you want them to listen or not is strictly in your court - do things the right way, or face the ban stick.

This has nothing to do with the right of free speech. HMX doesn't want any wrong information to be implied to the public. Why, you ask? Because look what happened the last time people assumed things. (It mad an ass out of u and the med school?) No, it led people to believe that the LEs Paul would workwith the PS3.

Sean and John are tongue-tied due to policy. It isn't their fault, but everybody on this forum is making it their problem.

Yes, it sucks. Waiting for an answer is horrible, but there isn't any choice. When they have a response, they will let us know.

This goes for everyone who posts a "vent" thread: Stop making the same threads in the wrong forum and they'll stop being locked. Posting here isn't going to get the patch up any quicker or make UPS magically show up at your door with your replacement equipment.

Yeah, we get it. It sucks. I waited two weeks to get a working guitar. I wasn't thrilled about it. Be patient, play with what you have and trust that they will get things straightened out.

Threads are not being closed due to content, unless said content is spreading misinformation or is blatently offensive.

While I can appreciate your frustration, the time spent ranting could be better spent making use of support options. There is obviously a significant effort in force to try and make people happy. That course of action will bring you far better results than an angry rant.

I explained this clearly in one of the other threads where you were complaining about closed threads. Instead of starting new threads, post in existing threads about the very topic. Purchasing the game doesn't entitle you to just go against the grain of the forums.

Rock and roll is about freedom and we're being denied that? What the hell does that have to do with anything?

Dude chill. Because your cash is going down the sh*tter doesn't give you the right to do whatever the hell you want anywhere.

If you take a look around this forum you will see that we don't go around closing threads because they are angry at us. We close them down when they are repeats of threads that are still open (for readability's sake), become off-topic flame wars, or contain mass amounts of misinformation. We understand people want to vent and there are plenty of threads in which to do that.

And if you think we aren't working our collective butts off to get you information about a variety of issues as soon as the info becomes concrete then I have no idea what to tell you.
