Any Rock Band/Harmonix guys reading this, we need a real patch. I play guitar hero as well as Rock Band, usually on hard or expert. I noticed that on long streaks of even single notes, about every 6th-8th note does not register. So, NATURALLY after hearing all the strumming problems with the Rock band Guitar, I tried with my GH II explorer AND my GH III Les Paul guitars and found the EXACT same problem. So, I cleared my cache, downloaded the new updates, and switched to medium so I KNOW I WOULD NOT be missing any notes in a single color streak. Guess what, no matter what guitar you use, you will miss one out of every 6 to 8 notes in Rock Band. I don't know why this is happening, and it is DEFINATELY NOT the guitar or my playing skills, as I said I went down to medium to test this (where I would 5 star and perfect most songs), yet it happens. If anyone knows why this is happening please post. I play solo and have the Mic in the back usb port, the drums in the front port, and if not using the wireless guitar, guitar in the front port, so no need for the USB hub. I am running this on a 2 week old premium Falcon that works flawlessly so I know it is not the hardware or Guitars, so what gives with the missing note? And it almost seems to pause for a split second then you miss that note no matter what!!

As I said, I believe this started after the latest update/patch. I had no problems the first week it came out! Now I can't get rid of this every 8th note or so stutter during long streaks. And it is not my t.v. or any calibration issue. It only happens on long same color evenly spaced streaks where just one out of every 8 or so DO NOT REGISTER. And I repeat I have tried three different brand guitars, and did this on medium so there was no way I could miss the notes. I 5 star all medium songs and most 100% (before this patch problem). They did a patch to help people with bad guitars, GUESS WHAT, it messed up everyone with a GOOD GUITAR!

I dunno what you're talking about, dude. Just 2 hours ago, I plugged in my new replacement Strat to make sure it all worked, played Won't Get Fooled Again on Hard, and got 100%. So obviously I wasn't missing any notes :)

My new (only second one) guitar is working flawlessly. I 100% songs all the time, including those with fast notes. Maybe you need a little more practice....?

Go to XBOX.COM's Rockband Game Forum and you will see many posters with the same issue. I don't need practice, I need the game to properly work like before the patch. Now any guitar I use, (it is not the Fender's fault), does this. I and others tested this out on medium level and after a long run of the same colors, one just does not register or is off time and you miss it no matter how good you are. Why this effects only some peoples xbox is unknown.

Try Creep on expert, if you can get through the end 100% then it is not the game. I was thinking it was just me too, I will look more into it tonight, but it seems like it is always the same note that gets missed. And they are notes in the middle of the runs.

I can play long, fast streaks with both of my strats with no problems.

Again Creep on expert, don't miss one note (well at the end).

i have never had this problem. I dont think that its a patch issue, a broken strum bar would not be fixed with a patch nor would most issues. I play on expert so I think i would be able to notice this happening, it just doesnt

Check your lag calibration, I'll bet anythign that you have the wrong timing so its making you miss. I havent had any problem with either my GHIII or my strat missing notes

I have a Sony 40" LCD BRAVIA 1080p hooked up through HDMI. It is a very good and fast T.V. Any time I tried to calibrate GH II, GH III, or ROCK BAND, I found that the normal default setting were the best. Even though I have an LCD TV, the standard CRT setting in ROCK BAND works better than the LCD setting. Probably because I have a high end LCD and there is no lag (6ns response time) compared to other LCD HDTVs. Self calibrating it only made things worse, and in any case that would NOT explain why ONLY ONE out of about every EIGHT notes evenly spaced gets missed and stutters a split second. And I repeat, only in ROCK BAND, not in either GUITAR HERO.

Someone on the XBOX forum said he removed his Hard Drive and did NOT connect to
xbox live. So his game disk was NOT PATCHED. He said the problem DISAPPEARED!
Can anyone please try this on hard and expert and see if the patch is really what is
screwing things up?

hotsocks, try changing your calibration manually to 20ms and see what happens. i never needed to calibrate in GH 1 or 2, but for some reason Rock Band is off. it's not your TV, it's the game, but setting it to 20ms should fix it. i was having the same problem that you're mentioning on long same-color note streaks, but i thought i was just getting off on my timing. that is until i started getting into the drums.

with the drums, i would naturally hit the pads in time with the drum hit sounds in the game, but i was missing alot. i found that i had to hit the pads before the sound, but that was really throwing me off. i was very reluctant to mess with the calibration to fix the drums because i thought it would screw up the guitar timing. turns out it made the guitar timing better too and now i can hit the drums with the beat.

I just spent a few minutes playing the same song on expert at full speed in the practice mode. AND GUESS WHAT? THERE IS NO MISSES OR SPLIT SECOND STUTTER AFTER EVERY SIX TO EIGHT NOTES. Therefore, there IS A PROBLEM with the game. Maybe when you get all the graphics going when playing out of practice mode, the xbox occassionaly lags or something in the game code hesitates for a split second. Guys, try seeing if you have the problem, if it is still there in practice mode, same song, same speed!!!

I tried the 20ms, but it doesn't seem to be different. If the calibration was the issue, then EVERY note would be missed or slightly off (sound before or after). This problem is only every six to eight notes in a long streak, one just misses. Can't be a lag or callibration issue since it only happens once in a while during all same colored streaks, but not in practice mode???

I can't 100% Creep on expert because I'm not good at moving from one note to the other during those fast streaks or stopping at the exactly right time. However, I can regularly get 40+ note streaks during the fast note sequences.

hmmmm....Hot is missing notes but no one else is....it's gotta be the game's fault! I think you just gotta get used to the timing. It is not GH and you need to adjust to it.

I and many other people on XBOX forum are missing notes. And these are NOT hard notes, these are easy one color 10-20 in a row notes where the timing is very easy, yet one or two of them don't register, but ALL the rest do? And they register in practice mode? Come on, something is up with the pickiness off these runs, and if I missed one, wouldn't the next four be missed since I am keeping the same beat? NO, ONE RANDOM MISS PER RUN???

Well it is possible to hit entire runs like this, as I have done it multiple times, not in practice mode, and with the patch installed. Conclude what you will from that.

It is not the game. It's eother lag, or you're jsut plain screwing up. The game is very strict with timing, falter in your rythym slightly and it will get screwed up. I don't know what to tell you, but this is an isolated problem.

Agreed. I was playing last night for about 4 hours on Hard and Expert with my new Strat and some other people over playing other instruments on my 360, didn't have a single problem playing consecutive notes except when I know I screwed up.

And yes, even Creep on Expert, I was able to FC it with the patch and new Strat.
