Did anyone else run into this? I spun the guitar in circles like a guard "gun" and STILL no overdrive power. Now I have 1 guitar that the strum bar only half works, and a "new" one that the overdrive doesn't work at all. Just wrote into support asking what they will do to remedy this....my thought is I "send one back" wait a fricken week and finally get a new guitar.....Oh yea..and 125 bucks still held on my credit card...whoo hoo! *sarcastic*

It will void your warrenty, but the jumper is probably off of the pins inside of the guitar. The jumper wire from the sensor switch is connected to the main board via just pins out sideways.....the only thing holding them in....."HOTGLUE".......the jumper was entirely off the pins...meaning that overdrive would not work ;) a dab of hotglue and whamo...fixed.

Would the "Start" button still allow the overdrive to be activated?
I'm wondering because, my strat will just spontaneously enter overdrive any time there is enough power to do it...makes saving your band mates impossible.
I am really happy with the strummer(new magnet type) but the overdrive is a downer.
I was thinking about just disconnecting the sensor if the start button would still work to activate it.
Thanks for giving this a look!

The back button still activates it, yes. It's really your choice, but when the overdrive did not work for me, I didn't want to wait over a week to get a new guitar, so I opened up the guitar to see if I could fix it myself.

I'm not sure where in the guitar the overdrive sensor is. I checked all the jumpers and they seem to be connected just fine.
It's just really annoying to have to hold the guitar completely vertical for 5 seconds to set off the overdrive...

Same problem happened to me when I received my replacement guitar on the 19th of December. Strum was fixed, although I am still very disappointed at how hard you have to press it in order to register a strum, very unacceptable. Anyway, the overdrive sensor was bad on my first guitar as well, would only activate by shaking it madly. After receiving this new one, it had gone insane. Almost everytime I gained overdrive, it activated almost immediatly, and no, my guitar was not tilted up to high to begin with. Sometimes though, it did not activate and in order to get it to work, I had to tilt my guitar almost straight down, then pull it back up.
I'm awaiting a second replacement and a replacement on my defective drum pad (snare/red pad was not registering most of the hits).
I just went ahead and bought me an X-plorer guitar today and I'm very satisfied. Seems they did some remodeling in compairison to the X-plored I had received with my GHII bundle a year or so back. The buttons press down much smoother and the whammy bar is as good as the Les Paul.

This is the exact same thing I just wrote about in another thread, so here's what I wrote there:
I recently recieved a replacement guitar because my strum bar stopped working. After using the new one for a few hours, I think I liked the old one better.
I like to stand and move around a bit while playing so I can't give exact numbers, but I would normally hold my old guitar at about a 5-10 degree tilt, then smoothly move to 25-30 degrees to activate Overdrive. Unfortunatly, my new guitar seems to have a few issues with Overdrive. When I hold it between 0-15 degrees it will randomly activate Overdrive. So I hold it around 20-25, and when I want to activate Overdrive I have to tilt it quickly (but not violently) to around 75-85 degrees. I have to be careful to get the speed just right or it won't activate at all, and I'll have to return to neutral to try again. This whole process can get a bit taxing durring gameplay.
The other thing I don't like about the new guitar is that the fret buttons are very stiff and make a fairly audible click when pressed, occasionally distracting me from playing. I'm hoping that'll soften, and eventually go away with time.
I do like a few things about the new guitar though. The strum bar feels sturdier and is now completely silent (though that doesn't matter as much since the fret buttons now click). Also the guitar in general feels sturdier. My old guitar would creak and twist with heavy use, where as the new guitar does not creak or twist at all.

I did a full mod on mine...3 of 4 strats have had a tilt sensor that SPONTANIOUSLY just went off with no tilting on my part could set it off. It just went off when IT wanted to(most of the time as soon as the power was active/half full)
I added a 1/8" jack to the back plate...disconneted the tilt sensor...wired my jack directly to the tilt sensor plug...and then built a foot switch with a N.O. SPST push button switch. On the other end from the switch I used a mono 1/8th in plug.
I plug that into the jack and then when i get my power built up and I WANT to activate overdrive, I push the button. {BOOM} Overdrive!
Its awesome. I've modded BOTH my strats and haven't had a bit of problems with either one since!
