I was playing with someone today that had characters wearing Batman and Robin clothes. One was guitar and the other was drumming. When i asked they said its a cheat code you have to put in but wouldnt tell me the code. Does anyone know anything about unlocking them or maybe other suits?

Cheat code? You are pretty gullible.
All clothing and costume items are already purchasable, or unlocked by good performances in Solo/Band World Tour.

He was problably pulling your chain, if you check the sticky in this section about Character pics, there is a guy who made a really cool looking Joker and another one made Spiderman, all with clothes and accesories with in the game. But hey!! then again there could be some code, I couldn't say for sure.

i could believe it was from all in game items but i dont see any anything from in game items that would make the hood for batman. Plus the robin suit had a guitar that had a yellow R in the lower corner, I havent actually looked but does any of the guitars have that?

You can add your own art to guitars. Press the yellow fret when you're buying guitars.

You can use the artwork/tattoo mechanism to add stickers to your instruments. Check for the "Add Artwork" button on the Instruments screen of the Rock Shop.

You can customize your guitar/bass, with all sorts of designs, again check the Sticky, a user made an almost exact replica of an Eddie Van Halen Guitar!!

You Can Add Art to any guitar you've purchased...just look for the option/button on the instrument Shop screen

Guys, its not something you can make.. I just saw someone with a Robin costume, and it wasn't something you could buy in the store.
It looked like you could buy it, and make it by putting stuff together, but further examination showed you couldn't.
He had a what looked like a yellow Dr. Acula, or whatever cape, but you can't wear anything under that.
His guitar had a custom R with a circle around it, and it was in a yellow finish with a red pickguard.
His GT was HoonCakes.
I'm believing that it's a cheat code also.
EDIT: He also wasn't very good, he missed a lot of notes on "I Think I'm Paranoid" on Hard guitar and he didn't have many achievements, so I don't think it's unlocked by doing something outstanding. It has to be a cheat.

But you could do a tattoo that makes it look like you are wearing something (particularly a tight batman or robin suit), couldn't you?

That pick looks like something you could make. I'll have to check on some things, but I believe that there's a hat/glasses combo that would make a decent "mask" and the shirt looks like the hooded sweatshirt with some graphics on it.

nah its simply face paint and black hair.... the graphic was created with the shapes on the game...

Man, I'm lame... After all this time customizing my character and his instruments, I had NO idea you could add decals to the guitar. *facepalm* I should be ashamed of myself....:(

His question/statement has nothing to do with being 'gullible,' it has to do with wondering how to get those costumes, suspecting it might be a code, and not realizing that you can likely make the graphics yourself, and use them cleverly to have your character look like that. "Uninformed" is a more accurate word in this case, certainly more friendly.
If he had said 'The guy told me it was a cheat code,' then you could call him gullible... But 'not knowing something' isn't really the definition of "gullible." And going on a forum to find an answer is what I would call 'Normal solution to curiosity in the 21st century.'
But you needed to slam him I guess...

He was told it was a cheat.
The guy he was playing lied to him and he fell for it.

The thing is i have none right now, if i go and add one, any art that s custom to the game it will also apear on my character face. If i delete the one on the face it deletes the one on the guitar... very weird.

Think of it like an art file. There are two categories, art and tattoos. In this case, you're dealing with an art file. Art File 1 let's say is a batman signal, just as an example. You can apply Art File 1 to a guitar, your shirt, and your face. Down the road, if you want to tweak the bat symbol, smooth out the edges and such, the change is updated on everything you've applied Art File 1 to. So if you want a second piece of art, you need to create Art File 2, or just the next art spot down.
It's tricky, because if things aren't sized right for your face or something, you have to re-create the art. But it's also great, because when you change a piece of art that you've re-used over and over, the changes are Global for that character.

Cool pic! Black leather pants, black hoodie (good job on the logo art), black gloves, facepaint, and a faux hawk haircut dyed black. Got a picture of Robin?
