I have purchased and downloaded several track without any problems, but on two I am having trouble. I selected purchase, and it went through the whole purchase and download process, but when I go to quickplay they do not show up. Then I go back to the music store and it says the songs are purchased, but not downloaded. So I download them again, and same result they don't show up. I go back to the music store and again it says purchased but not downloaded. Also from looking at my account they never took out the points for the songs, so I guess I never really bought them. So how do I get music store to display them right so I can purchase and download them? Any ideas?

has anyone replied to you? I'm having the same issue...it's only one song, but it always shows up as "purchased". I can't find it to play during the game but I definitely payed for it. I wonder if it's track specific? The track in question for me is James Brown Get Up.

catdogtn, don't be a wasteoid and hijack a thread with a legitimate issue for your spam whining about delayed DLC for the week. There are PLENTY of other threads for that. This forum is for tech support. Go whine elsewhere.

JameTech, are you using an SD card for DLC storage? Is it full? How many free blocks do you have in your Wii memory? (Remember that the download has to go to main memory before being copied to the card.)

catdogtn

ime not hijacking anything and i am not whining who the hell are you anyway ?

belloq

The definition of hijacking a thread is starting a new topic that is unrelated to the OP purpose. You did exactly that by posting about late DLC when the OP was asking about a problem with a purchased and downloaded track. That has Zero to do with late DLC.

it has something to do with dlc period thats all that matters, i never wright a post thisis my first time, dont make such a big deal over one post. are you the master of rockband lol

I am using an SD card, but its not nearly full. It doesn't seem to be a problem with space, since I have purchased and downloaded other tracks with no problem since this issue started, its just with these two tracks for some reason.

Keep the bloody delayed DLC stuff in the existing thread!

To the OP, which song exactly is it that isn't working for you?

Keep the bloody delayed DLC stuff in the existing thread!

You guys really should really get a bloody grip on telling posters where to post. The subject of THIS thread is: Wii DLC Problem! I see a problem with last weeks DLC for the Wii so I checked this thread out because the MAIN thread for the 5/26/09 DLC was closed! The OP could have been more specific with the problem AND the subject title. I am a bit ticked off @ this situation due to Nintendo delaying last weeks DLC and how Harmonics is handling this delay on the rockband forums. I am not alone in that but its hard to tell from searching this forum.

It's not hard to search this forum, or the Internet for that matter. Get over your lazy self and post in the right threads. And if you really can't find the appropriate thread. Make one! It's really hard to help people if you're posting BS wherever you feel like it and making clutter on the tech threads.

BOTTOM LINE: The 5/26 Wii DLC is delayed. Deal and be patient.

The OP's question was about downloaded tracks that weren't working for him. Hijacking his thread and turning it into another whiny "where's our late DLC" thread is not helping either issue. Just because the thread title is somewhat open, the original message is clear in that it has nothing to do with the aforementioned delay.

The 5/26/09 discussion was closed in accordance with forum policy that only one weekly DLC discussion thread be active at any given time. The delayed DLC discussion is ongoing (and mostly civil) in a thread titled "Why no Wii tracks?" http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142862

You guys just need to stop laying it on posters who are confused about whats going on with the DLC and the Wii and the PROBLEM... LOL ....that everyone one is having. The SUBJECT leads us to read about this guys problem. AND hes not very specific about it. Therefore what help is he going to get other than making the situation worse for EVERYONE. But its NOT his fault. Harmonix needs to clear things up when they dont they leave it to posters like you guys to police the Rock Band forum. My LAZINESS when it comes to looking for answers to this NO TRACKS situation made me read every thread Wii DLC PROBLEM related. AND from what I thought everyone was getting it except for me and a few people because there were hardly any posts.

Also thank you for the thread linky. Like i said before I still am ticked off about this so I apologize for coming off a little harsh, but customers have to stop calling fellow customers whiny when there ARE major flaws and serious problems with a product and they are complaining about it or trying to find out information to get things working. This is not some nerf or unbalance situation for a MMORPG. Get it straight with the stop whining comments.Thanks.

We're not. We're asking that people stick to the subject.

The SUBJECT leads us to read about this guys problem. AND hes not very specific about it.
Utter BS. He's very specific that he sees the tracks in the DLC, downloaded them, but they don't show up in his playlist. The store says he purchased them, and can download them again, but they don't show up.

If you think that's the same as "where's the new DLC; it's delayed; I can't see or download the new tracks" then you're seriously in trouble with the English language.

My LAZINESS when it comes to looking for answers to this NO TRACKS situation made me read every thread Wii DLC PROBLEM related. AND from what I thought everyone was getting it except for me and a few people because there were hardly any posts.
There are at least 20 different threads about the delayed DLC. Yes, the DLC was delayed later than expected. But that is still no excuse for blatantly ignoring standard forum rules and posting about an unrelated issue in someone's thread. Just because it was about "DLC" doesn't mean we start discussing EVERY DLC-related issue in one thread. That is precisely what makes searching the forum a laborious task because people insist on posting whatever they want, wherever they want.

What tracks are causing the issue, friend? Perhaps with that, a forum search could reveal if others have had problems with the same tracks.

I'm wondering if there might be a corruption of files on the SD card and maybe you need to load it into a PC and remove the directory for those tracks?

I am having the same problem. I have previously downloaded DLC for RB2 for the Wii without a problem. However, I have been trying for days to download "Smooth Criminal" by Alien Ant Farm. It downloads fine, but then does not appear in my playlist. If I go back to the Music Store, it shows as "downloaded." I have tried several times to download it again, but I get the same result. I am using an SD card, which has plenty of space on it. Has anyone else had this issue with Smooth Criminal? Is there someone we can call for tech. support or to report this?

If ur using a sd card it might be full or the wii memory. this happened to me in till i realized i had no more space left but after downloading it will say unable to move to sd card and it can go unnoticed

The two songs in particular are Don't Stop Believing by Journey and Losing My Religion by REM. Its weird because I have bought and downloaded other songs since with no problem. Since I haven't had the wii points for the two taken out of my account, I don't think the purchases ever went through. But the problem is the Wii store thinks I purchased them, so it won't let me purchase them again. Don't know what to do.

I don't think the problem is song specific. I had this problem with "All the Small Things"

Someone suggested erasing the SD card, and re-downloading everything again. Seems like a harsh answer. I am hoping someone can come up with a better one.

When I get the chance, I am going to try with a new SD card, and see if that helps.

Wow, a lot of idiots went off topic in this one. Reading through all the useless bickering was really annoying.

I'm experiencing the same problem but I have an idea of why I'm experiencing it. I was in the purchasing process of a song when my Wii lost connection to the internet. When I reconnected and tried to purchase/download the song again it said it was already purchased. I downloaded the song but then it never appeared in the song list. I tried redownloading the song several times but it never shows up. Am I right in thinking that the interruption in the initial purchase may have caused the problem?

Any suggestions would be fantastic. (And no off-topic crap from that CatdogNoob kid)

i have the exact problem Ireland914.....but when my purchase screwed up, i went back to the song shop and it told me to go back to the wii shop channel to finish the purchase

JameTech

I don't really know how the DLC process work from a technical standpoint, but my guess is that in addition to downloading the song you also download some type of small license that allows you to play the song, which would prevent you from taking your songs on an SD card to a different Wii. So my guess is that our problem is that we have the song downloaded, but not the license. But the problem is the music store says we have already purchased the item, so we can't purchase it again. Does anyone know how to fix that, or at least who we could contact. (Harmonix is of NO help, contacted them several times, they ignore all my emails).

Sorry, that same thing happened to me... forgot to mention it. I went to the Wii store like it said to, nothing happened. So, I go back in to Rock Band and it just lets me download the song. Then it doesn't show up.

Does the Music store state purchased or downlaoded. If downlaoded try deleting the song and redownloading. Other wise, the only thing i can think of if removing the SD card and starting the game. See if that song shows up. If so delete it, restart with the SD card and try again. This is only a guess, as I have a Wii, and have not experienced any of these issues with my 150 downloads.

here´s ea anwser

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rock Band warranty support.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you' re experiencing! I would recommend checking the storage device that you were saving the information to and see if there is any log of even a partial download of the song and delete it. Once that is done, go back into the music store and try to re-download the song at that time.

If that doesn't work for you, I would consider checking the forums at www.rockband.com for another possible solution. Since the game developers Harmonix run the site and control the DLC content, they would likely have a better idea of what needs to be changed to get that to work The community that posts there usually provides some really good ideas and solutions to technical issues like this. There may be some sort of system file that links information from your console to your music store purchases and this may need to be altered to allow your purchase to go through again. I don't want to recommend anything specific though that could potentially mess up your other information.

I hope what I have suggested helps with your problem! If you have any further questions or concerns please let me know. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Jared

I have tried going into the SD card and deleting it, as well as starting the game without the SD card, neither worked. I am firmly convinced at this point that the issue has nothing to do with the SD card, or the song downloading correctly etc. To me the problem seems to be with the music store. I think none of us actually got the license or whatever type of security system they use for the songs, and that is why we can't play them. Its hard to say though, I wish EA would fix this issue, since clearly a lot of people are experiencing it.

I am now having the same problem with a Maroon 5 track. Music Store locked up during the download. I've re-downloaded, it shows up as downloaded in the music store but doesn't show up in my playlist. When I go back into the music store, it says Purchased again. I've tried deleting the song after it downloads and redownloading again. I've checked my SD card... lots of room and no partial files. Not happy that EA has absolutely no solution.

this looks like a deserted thread, but all my searches lead me hear. i bought a song (wii music store, RB2, alive by P.O.D.) and i got some error while purchasing it. it shows as purchased in the store, and wii points were deducted from my account, and then i download it, but it never shows in my playlist. my card is not full, as i have bought many more songs after this glitch. i've tried to do all this without the card, all to no avail. has there ever been a fix for this? i see the OP is 2 years old. this happened to me in july of '10.
when i'm in the music store for RB3, it does not show as purchased, but i'd rather not pay for it twice. i hope i can get an answer on this please
