I saw someone put a YouTube video on how to fix the guitar by tightening screws inside, I opened my guitar (I had avoided doing this to not void a warranty but given my replacement order has once again been misplaced I have no choice) but that wasnt the issue. The issue is the metal strips that interact when you strike the strum both up and down. As strange as this may sound, I took a piece of that free Hitman ticket that I received in a DVD (not the ticket but a attachment of it) and cut a small piece about 1 centimeter high and 4 cm long. I folded it three times and placed it between the plastic molding and the metal strip to make it move closer the other strip thus permitting a better response. I put the guitar back together but only used some of the screws (there a a LOT) and tested the thing. After finally surviving Enter Sandman, Highway star on Medium (I know, i sux) as well as Green Grass and others, I opened the guitar to check the strip and it was still firmly in place and the guiter is working fine, If you really pissed off and have some skill with a scissors and screwdriver, I recommend giving this a try, It sure beats having to send in your better looking guitar and get a "used" one in return.

You know what I did to fix my guitar. And I know this is going to sound strange but hear me out.
I read that it was advised by some people to blow on it with compressed air and I read up on the problem and that it has to do with a certain component moving slightly after being over used.
So, I picked up my guitar. Put the strum bar close to my mouth. And blew on it like you would an old nintendo game on the SNES. Guess what? my strum bar now works....
Maybe I just got lucky.
