Trying to pick something by sampling the songs, but EVERYTHING SOUNDS SO DIFFERENT!! What album should I get first?

I'm not a huge Radiohead fan (contrary to what my username and last.fm would tell you) but I'd say the best starting point would be The Bends or OK Computer.

My reccomendation: Don't listen to Radiohead.

if you want more rock-based stuff get "the bends". if you want more experimental or electric stuff get "kid a". and if you want something in the middle get "ok computer".

QFT. Radiohead are over-rated, and there are plenty of better bands to listen to.

There isn't really a bad starting point. Pick an album, they all rock. Personally I think the Bends is a good start….

I'm gonna agree with you, while I like Radiohead, I don't think they're the best band since the Beatles like their (annoying) fans and Pitchfork Media would have you think.

I'd get The Bends, then OK Computer. They started to lose me with Kid A, but recently won me over again with In Rainbows. And yes, I paid for it.
