Fall Out Boy doesn't deserve all the hate they get. They are relatively talented, but their music isn't the best.

green day sucks, sorry im just going to say it boldly.
I liked how, on the colbert report, they tried to make themselves sound so noble by refusing to sell their albums at walmart, like that means anything. Walmart doesn't need them to make money, they sell guns too(this is implying that only rednecks shop at walmart, by the way).
I think their earliest work, is in my opinion, their BEST work.
Yeah, and they all sounded unintelligent. Even the guy who didn't talk. :p

I'd normally give them a 3, but they plagiarize other artists' work pretty blatantly, so they get a 2 from me. As a musician, plagiarism is NOT cool.

Green Day's awesome and I'm tired of all the effing haters.
They sell crap loads of albums. And they've all gone platinum. And people think they're so cool just cause they hate on Green Day. I'm tried of it. You can dislike em. But you can't deny their talent or popularity.

Their music may be generally simple chord wise but their talent lies in their lyrics. And they have certainly developed talent wise over the years. Listen to Jesus Of Suburbia. In fact listen to all their new stuff. (American Idiot, 21st Century Breakdown) They're making rock opera albums. Their talent lies in the way they split songs into several interesting parts and the lyrics they use.

Haters as in people who give no reason on hating on them or give bs reasons. I respect people who say their not my taste. Not people who say I hate Green Day cause they suck. And don't explain anything.

Um, you must be mistaken, GNR and Metallica do not have simple riffs. And as the Beatles are one of the originators of Rock N Roll they perfected and successfully implemented the simple riff.

4-1 are wrong. Even the people who voted for that are wrong. If Green Day was that bad, they would've broken up over 10 years ago. Obviously they are not. Most bands don't live as long as they have this time around. And of course i'm talking from 1990's-Present. Only a good Handful of bands have made it past the 10 year mark and are still strong today. Some only last one year before they break up.

They're early pop stuff was good, but AI and 21CB are pathetic, overblown, pretentious, aimless, juvenile (and not in the good way,) overwrought, underthought, conceptually terrible, and, worst of all, utterly generic slabs of textureless "we're important and serious and stuff" arena rock. Good Lord, they're modern day U2, but cornier (if that's even possible) and with records about characters named Jesus of Suburbia and St. Goddamn Jimmy.
Overall, 4.5.

They're not the same guys in their 20's writing songs anymore. You can't expect them to keep writing Dookie over and over...
I'm a huge Green Day fan, and have been since the 1,039 hours/Kerplunk days. I personally love the new direction they've taken since American Idiot. I've been waiting for something good since Warning which I feel is their weakest album...

And I would guess that plenty of bands you hate have been around for more than 10 years, so that argument makes no sense either. You can like them or you can not like them, I don't really care, but don't come up with phony reasons as to why they're good or not.
