WoW Saves Boy from Attacking Moose in Real Life

According to Nettavisen (via Wired), 12-year-old Hans Jørgen Olsen and his sister encountered a troubled moose while walking in the forest near their Norwegian home.

After diverting the beast's attention away from his younger sister, Hans played possum, "just like you learn at level 30 in World of Warcraft," to avoid being attacked.

"Feign death" is a skill acquired by level 30 hunters in Blizzard's massively popular MMO which recently surpassed 9 million paying subscribers worldwide.

Hans, his sister, and the moose all reportedly walked away from the incident without injury.

******ed article!... It doesn't say at all that the boy actually plays WoW, and that's where he learned it from; just that he played possom like a toon hunter in WoW.

Thats stupid, a level 30 hunter could easily killed the moose, although he might need to use his sister as a tank.

Well, if he was actually using his WoW knowledge here, he wouldn't have used FD to save his sister...FD is a full aggro wipe, and the moose would then attack the target next highest on the aggro list; in this case his sister.

Then again, his sister could have vanished or ice blocked to clear her threat as well...neither of these kids probably had KTM installed.
